According to Upton: High res models indicating strongest mid-level frontogenesis develops to the north and west of the coastal plain Wed morning into early afternoon. This will actually have the highest likelihood and intensity of precip to develop across Interior portions of NE NJ, Lower Hud and SW CT Wed morning into early afternoon (thermal profile plenty cold enough for snow). With that said, can not rule out that this development could be a bit farther south into the coastal plain (although a lower probability). Most indications are for snow development to hold off until mid morning or later.

As you get into the Mid Hudson Valley and north and west, could be a nice thumping of snow before any mixing.

The last 30 yr. average for snowfall at Central Park has to be one of the highest 30 yr. averages since records have been taken. Maybe this is just the law of averages taking over and we got a little spoiled.

I can't believe I am rooting for .01 inch of snow for Central Park.

It looks like the RGEM shows a small accumulation for the city, less than an inch. I hope but won't be surprised if there is no accumulation.

Yea Euro and CMC seem to be on board for at least a turn to cold, we shall see.

So the GFS says an 80-90% chance of Central Park getting an inch of snow. Would be nice to see that Wednesday but I have my doubts. Anything measurable would be good.

Nice to see some areas getting some snow today. I think a little more than what was expected a few days ago. Hopefully the next storm will do the same. I just hope Central Park can get an accumulation, then that'll be by the wayside

Glad to see the GFS showing cold throughout most of the United States in the beginning of February. Not saying it will happen but it's more than I've seen up to this point

I had about a half inch in December, in the levittown area. Are you talking about pictures of Central Park?

I think it may be over for next year to.

There are probably many things that we don't consider. This is why I take writing off February and March with a grain of salt. Not saying they won't be mild with lack of snow, just saying nobody really knows this far out.

I am hearing different numbers for the longest streak in Central Park without snow. 322 days and 332 days. Apparently the longest streak is 332 days, Jan 19- Dec 15 of 2020. This would mean they have 18 more days before the longest streak is broken. That would put them into February.

Not doing much here now but just had enough in the past hour to whiten the cars again.

Hard to say where it will snow shower. They seem to form, diminish and then form again.

Seems snow showers increasing just inland from Maine to south Jersey. Maybe the moisture from off shore front and storm hitting the cold air. Would be nice to see it fill in over night and have a light snow fall even in Central Park. Just a thought, probably won't happen but this time yesterday I would have said snow showers today wouldn't happen.
