  1. There are probably many things that we don't consider. This is why I take writing off February and March with a grain of salt. Not saying they won't be mild with lack of snow, just saying nobody really knows this far out.
  2. I am hearing different numbers for the longest streak in Central Park without snow. 322 days and 332 days. Apparently the longest streak is 332 days, Jan 19- Dec 15 of 2020. This would mean they have 18 more days before the longest streak is broken. That would put them into February.
  3. Is Central Park the only recording station in our area that has not received snow?
  4. How can write off the entire month of February when it is January 16th.
  5. Global sea levels are up 3.8 inches in the past 30 years.
  6. So far this month my averages are High 48.2 and low 35.4. My low temperature has been 28.4. My low is actually higher than the average minimum.
  7. Snowing on the Cape, numerous webcams for anyone interested: https://masswebcams.com/cape-cod-webcams/
  8. Light Snow in Montauk: https://www.webcamtaxi.com/en/usa/new-york/montauk-downtowncircle.html
  9. Not doing much here now but just had enough in the past hour to whiten the cars again.
  10. Hard to say where it will snow shower. They seem to form, diminish and then form again.
  11. Seems snow showers increasing just inland from Maine to south Jersey. Maybe the moisture from off shore front and storm hitting the cold air. Would be nice to see it fill in over night and have a light snow fall even in Central Park. Just a thought, probably won't happen but this time yesterday I would have said snow showers today wouldn't happen.
  12. Light snow here, car tops getting dusted.
  13. Winter alive and well out west. Nice to see a dent put in the drought.
  14. Flurries starting again in Times Square. Is there still hope for Central Park, probably not much.
  15. I don't think Goldberg was indicating a turn to arctic cold and snow but more of a gradual change to more seasonal and increasing the possible snow chances. This is my interpretation, I can't speak for him. He also indicated it looks like the run of storms hitting the west coast should end and it will turn colder out there and that chill will start coming eastward. We shall see.
  16. My second biggest snowstorm of the year about an 1/8 inch.
  17. Central Park reporting 32 degrees with light snow. Is this their first 32 degree reading all month?
  18. Storm offshore tomorrow keeps inching a little closer. Looks like eastern Long Island may get something. Southeastern New England looks to get accumulating snow.
  19. Light snow 31 degrees, beginning to stick.
  20. Of course it will eventually happen. Those cancelling winter I think are giving up to soon. Goldberg even indicating a week from now the possibility of some wintry weather in the area.
  21. Lee Goldberg indicating it is starting to look like a pattern change the end of the month. Snow chances will probably increase.
