It has been fairly consistent for eastern Maine to be feeling strong affects from lee. Looks like eastern New England should also feel affects. Still time for small moves east or west that can make a big difference.

So it appears the slower Lee is now, the more the shift to the west may be as it approaches the northeast. Also indications it may slow as it approaches Maine and eventually accelerates to the northeast..

I have 2 stations in my backyard, one is in the shade and the other in and out of the sun. There both reliable Davis stations but the one when it has direct sun is some 2 to 3 degrees higher. If the station is near a building or house or concrete, it will also read higher. It can be hard to follow NWS standards when the station is at your typical house with a typical yard

It was uncomfortable today to say the least. If some clouds didn't move in, my 91 could have been a 92 or 3.

Today was oppressive but 91 (at least near me) is not unheard of. If it gets to the mid or upper 90s here, that is pretty unusual. Today here was a typical Florida summer day. To hot.

Temperatures in our area certainly are oppressive but not really extreme heat such as upper 90s. We will see what the next few days bring.

Are you talking Brookhaven Long Island? Brookhaven Labs weather station has recorded 85, 87, 89 the past 3 days.
