    For anyone interested I did read that the NWS says a White Christmas is having 1 inch of snow on the ground Christmas morning. Could be an interesting call this Christmas.

    I was curious how they determine if Christmas day is a white Christmas or not. This year it is possible there could be snow on the ground at midnight but not at noon Christmas Day. I was wondering how they make the official determination.

    After a cold season last winter, Alaska is off to another very cold start. Temperatures well below zero in the central and northern part of the state.

    Upstate NY from around Binghamton to Albany and NE to Vermont got a widespread 18-30 inches. Makes since with a low so close to the coast. We are fortunate down here that the cold air was so entrenched. That was not a normally good track for us.

    Snowing harder here now than all morning. Actually I think the flakes became a normal size instead of microscopic

    Looks like a general 6-12 inch snowfall thru the entire area. Of course less at the immediate shore and more far NW.

    Snowing here for the last 3-4 hours but the flakes are so small its hard to tell its snow. 26 degrees and winds gusting to 41mpn.
