  1. This is basically a standard, mid-Atlantic summer pattern. Humid with a chance of afternoon and evening t-storms into next week with the except of a day or two of drier weather. Some will get rain, some won’t. There’s no widespread storm to track. Personally, this is one of my favorite types of weather patterns (though I do agree…it’s a little bit of a spicy tortilla out there).
  2. I went there once with my brother in law...we both rode our jeeps. Definitely a nice spot, though it's a trek getting there. Gulf stream basically bypasses OC and gets close to the OBX. Water temps are significantly warmer in VA beach and points south for that reason.
  3. I can attest that OC was chilly last weekend. Swimmable...but required sunshine and internal motivation.
  4. Glad to see it. The beautiful deserts of the southwest are much better at dry than we are whereas we're professionals at lush summers when the pattern is in our favor.
  5. Idk how much rain just fell, but it came down in sheets at its peak. That cell was loaded.
  6. Breezy torrents here. I wasn't completely thrilled about it because I was about to take a break from studying (grad class), got ready to go out, looked at the radar, and then decided to eat instead lol.
  7. 2024 Frederick doesn't waste humidity. Another cell moving through atm.
  8. Drove back from oc last night and caught that last line on 70. Few minutes of torrents. Saw lightning in the distance for a large chunk of my drive back. I’m assuming mby had a decent precip day.
  9. Rain has commenced in Frederick.
  10. Looks promising, but the mountains are a mid-Atlantic weapon. I never trust precip west of the blue ridge anymore. Grass is browning up here, so we do need a drencher.
  11. Seems like humidity increased a bit. I’m game.
  12. I like our setups better when it’s hot and humid with cumulus clouds instead of this alto/stratus stuff. Maybe we can get a prolonged break in the clouds closer to sunset.
  13. I was starting to miss this kinda weather. Cloudy and dry is lame.
  14. We don’t seem to be all that good at humidity anymore.
  15. Was just thinking the same thing lol. That’s how you know we’re in a heat wave.
  16. Yea, I had to double check that lol.
  17. Which desert are you in?
  18. If I had my way, I would take mid-Atlantic summers for 6 months out of the year and then fall and spring. Winters here are just so...meh lol. I love a good snowstorm, but after a while it just gets old tracking systems...not to mention the shorter days and less outdoor activities available.
  19. Looks like clouds are gonna be a thing near the mountains. Been 60/40 clouds to start the day here with an ocean-like breeze. Sunnier looking s/se. Sitting on my balcony doing some work atm. Yesterday was spicy, but not expecting that same level today given the current conditions.
  20. Today’s heat is aggressive.
  21. I was just thinking about the lack of hhh this week. I definitely remember more of those in the 90s. Granted, we have plenty of other issues to address, but air quality does seem to have improved.
  22. That was me yesterday, though I did alternate between that and A/C. The older I get the more I prefer sun and warm weather. Heat waves are pushing it, though.
  23. Definitely feeling a little more chippy outside than the last few days. I'll still take it over 50s and clouds. I may have a different opinion by tomorrow.
  24. It feels kind of awesome outside rn. Today was nothing more than "summer". Friday thru Sunday do look spicy, though. Hopefully, we can reel in a line of storms on the tail end of the heat wave.
  25. I went biking at Schaeffer Farms on Sunday (first time I've been there all year) and it was drier than I expected, though certainly nothing like last summer where streams were becoming non-existent (there were even some mud patches). If we can fuel up the humidity levels enough, we might be able to find our way to an afternoon storms pattern which should help offset the dry heat.
