Winter is the new autumn!
-
Looks like Beryl remnants make it up here intact.
-
There should be a heat advisory on the N Shore today. Currently 88/74=97 heat index.
-
Yep-disgusting today. Miami weather.
-
Hopefully we can get some kind of organized system to bring the storms east of the Hudson. Otherwise yeah this is the typical wet inland/LI flash drought pattern.
-
I’ll gladly take something more than 10 drops here or 7 drops there the last couple weeks. Lawns not regularly watered are all brown.
-
Get it right. ENHANCED fail!
-
These enhanced risk days are almost always when there's a strong S flow which is terrible for any severe on LI. We want a westerly flow to counter the marine influence or occasionally a seabreeze boundary pushing into the westerly flow to cause convection. Would've liked more than maybe 10 drops though, would've been nice.
-
Good for SW Nassau and the barrier islands at least. Can’t get a break whatsoever IMBY.
-
But it’ll be an enhanced risk 0.01!! Not even enough here to wet the ground completely.
-
Disgusting outside, feels like August. As always IMBY, I'll believe any storms more than typical thunder/lightning and some gusty winds when I see them east of the Hudson. Hopefully the grass gets a good watering.
-
A few drops if we’re lucky.
-
Maybe although I'd think it goes N of here. I think the chance for widespread heavy rain would be what's in central PA now. Latest HRRR largely has it surviving.
-
Maybe another chance overnight for places that were missed. The barrier islands are bone dry now and need the rain.
-
All in all some good lightning/thunder, half decent gusts and mod-heavy rain. South of me by the LIE had it better. My office in Melville probably got rocked-should see some downed branches there in the morning.
-
Half decent gusts here, maybe to 40.
-
May be in a good spot here in about 20 min.
-
Looks like that outflow boundary is helping fire some more storms to the south.
-
Wondering if maybe storms can fire between the outflow boundary heading south from the I-78 storms and the remaining sea breeze boundary in NJ. That’s probably the only hope us east of Queens have for more than a few minute shower.
-
Don’t worry, very used to NW of I-95 getting soaked, S Jersey getting slammed and a few drops make it east of the Hudson this time of year. We keep watering.
-
89 at home. Close. 86 here in Melville.
-
Whatever seabreeze must be very weak. Long Beach still over 85. At home it’s 92.
-
Well defined seabreeze around Sunrise Highway. Temp 90 here.
-
Some stations hit 90 in S/Central Nassau and barrier islands are around 85 from the muted onshore flow.
-
If there’s a general line of T-storms that can keep momentum heading east we have a chance especially E of the Hudson. If it’s more daily convection type we’re probably screwed again.
