  1. That could happen, and the ERTAF crew thinks that May 19 to 25 will be prime from the Plains eastward to IL/IN/ western Ohio. "The synoptic scale will be supportive of a regime analogous to historical significant tornadoes in May."
  2. Have NWS radars in many locations been hacked or are having tech problems this Monday April 29? Many are down with weird reasons why. Anyone else having problems?
  3. Two EF-1 tornadoes confirmed in Jennings County IN by the NWS on April 25 despite no prior thoughts of svr wx impacting the area. Goes to show how quickly things can change.
  4. Yep...weather models predict four to six inches of rain for Indpls area over the upcoming seven day period. Ruins my desire to go hiking.
  5. Totally agree with Hoosier's comments on the 100% vs 99% regarding the eclipse. There's a world of difference. Glad I went down to Harrisburg IL rather than staying in the EVV area for the 2017 eclipse. I'll be 73 if I'm still around at that time...so thankful to see the magnificent display in 2017.
  6. Noticed that trend. If this keeps up as moisture improves later in spring we may have quite the svr season.
  7. I'm wondering if this cell about to cross the MS river into IL south of St. Louis is following some sort of quasi warm front where winds are somewhat backed. 10. Yes, we're getting some clearing in southern MO. Possibly the enhanced area will get some hailers like they had in OKC area yesterday.
  11. Confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado over Columbus MS. City of 24,000 people
  12. Confirmed tornado near Burnsville MS heading for Lauderdale county Alabama

  15. But it's all going into the lower Ohio Valley from PAH on sw to the MS.
  16. Posting here as well as in the svr thread....I am not seeing any svr wx polygons showing up on ANY NWS radar in the affected region....I first called Memphis to let them know but only got a recording saying they were open during business hours M-F. This needs to be corrected for an upcoming possibly very dangerous day in the affected area. Flood warnings show up but not svr.
  17. I tried calling MEG NWS to let them know their severe warning polygons are NOT showing up on the NWS radar. Flood warnings are depicted, but not svr. Only got a recorded phone message that they have weekday hours. Possibly some of you can help notify them for this upcoming dangerous afternoon.
  18. May be a very dangerous day for both flooding and tornadoes across the mid south today.
  19. I would presume a rock or mudslide across the highway in the park.
  20. I can't believe FV3 is giving me over a foot of snow here just ne of Indpls when the local NWS is only predicting a few inches with mix. And this close to the event!
  21. 1320 tornadoes with first High Risk April 6 in the Plains. The Plains have got to get more active once again in a climatology sense.
  22. Yes, it is usually the NAM that tends to go overboard on CAPE values on occasion. Your posted map surprises me.
  23. Well, what do you know> ERTAF puts up a map for week 2 outlook graphic right in the heart of tornado alley from TX north to Kansas. First time they've felt confident enough to post a map in awhile.
