  1. When was the last WSW for Northern Chesco, 2016?
  2. Looks like a pretty classical textbook SECS for most the area across most guidance. Model guidance seems to be verifying well with the recent more mundane weather.
  3. Its so strange... the GFS is acting like the Lucy of Lore (a.k.a the old Euro) on the Jan 7 - 10th period. What does the 2014 Weenie handbook say? ...I think we will be looking at soundings in a few days to get a guage on the precip type for the final forecast.
  4. Hopefully their homeowner's insurance covers this. Otherwise they will be stuck pursuing their contactor and engineering consultant that did the permit work.
  5. I cant remember the last sunny day we had, very lousy weather! Bear creek ended up opening for hotel guests and season pass holders for dec 23-26th (closed at 3pm). My supervisor told us not to come in because of how little terrian was open to avoid over crowding the trails. Here's what it looks like now...
  6. I was in Reading tonight-- could barely see the Pagoda!
  7. I'm not normally one to name storms outside of Hurricane protocol but in the Christmas spirit I think we should name these threats after the Three Kings... Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar!
  8. The corporations encourage their employees to do cash jar tipping... tax benefits (albeit illegal ones) for all involved. If there's enough tips on average then the corporation can pay server rate and the employee likely doesn't report the cash tip income on their tax return and the business doesn't pay payroll tax either. Its kind of like reverse-inverse-free-money.
  9. You sound like you need a vacation-- are the holidays getting to you?
  10. Interestingly, It would appear either condition yields at least some snow-- none of them are total shutouts. Also if you removed the normal December snowfall from the season totals for the warmest years on record, you'd likely see that the remaining portion winter was at or above average in most years.
  11. The Operational GFS continues to hint at a Jan 4-6 storm-- looks to be a classic Miller A. The Wiggum Watch looks good too, balms out Mommoth with 58F a few days before:
  12. The Wiggum rule criteria will be close to being met as well.
  13. My mom's gerbera daisy is blooming. Pansies are thriving!
  14. Theoretical perfect and actual perfect are two different things. There is a cost-risk and human scheduling element involved. I'm highly skeptical Bear Creek will be open 1/1/2024.
  15. PA Ski instructors nightmare, Vermont is getting right before the holidays and we gave back most our man made snow with the rain storms... nothing cold enouugh to make substantial snow before new years either. Need at least 72 hours of below 32 degrees to make snow.
  16. This observation of LVblizzard matches my observations as well.
  17. Last night was a bit of an over performer for the setup-- Nice storm.
  18. Lol... Im more of a winter warlock guy myself:
  19. One of my favorite storms was an SECS early december storm... Dec 6th 2005.
  20. It is about as good a look we can get in November this far out. It will be interesting to see how it works out.
