  1. Thats why you always leave the grass long before winter. Marginal events, shove that ruler down to the soil line, the snow sits up on the grass…instant KU
  2. I know. Im not the guy who measured in the puddle. im just pointing out the obvious before the bickering restarts
  3. Im gonna go with just about everyone busting. The warmistas and the snowmongers. less than what we should have probably gotten, but enough that roads have been plowed.
  4. I mean at least someone finally looked at a goddamn map….
  5. You think you woulda noticed all those posts going missing….
  6. I havent had any plain rain to even get freezing rain. Probably saved this area. Sleet and ice pellets arent too awful to drive on.
  7. Im telling you the next person who writes “the weather isnt a big deal” on a weather discussion forum is being insta banned.
  8. Temp has creeped up enough and the ridiculous sleet rates from earlier have dropped enough that the salt and plows have cleared the main roads.
  9. Thats the hardest ive seen it sleet in a long time. Prob since that valentines day disaster. If this was slower moving we’d be in deep doodoo.
  10. Pouring the kitchen sink, roads are not great. Thruway and palisades messy too.
  11. Explains why staten island didnt send a team to the LLWS till climate change allowed for better ballplayers and longer seasons.
  12. I fully expect this to be slop with no real accumulations until north of me….but ive been wrong before. Once. also a reminder, snow totals arent measured on roads, nor over manhole covers on 53rd street, nor on a block of ice metsfan saves for these occasions. So it may in fact be measurable snow, as is often the case in later season storms, that doesnt really affect roads/commute. But since this is a weather forum, and not a traffic forum, we discuss the actual weather, not just its effects on our lives.
  13. So you know that a lot of nyc geographically, is in fact not south of 78? Just making sure here. Lol
  14. I know this is gonna take this way the eff off topic again…but are you sure you know where I78 is?
  15. Some major roads in rockland were completely snowcovered with numerous accidents. Sun never came out there i guess.
  16. Most of the damage was done earlier this morning it sounded like, ice jams were actually released overnight but then got stuck again in ausable forks and one near jay too. Trying to find news bids because the facebook vids wont post here.
  17. Not our subforum obv but since i spend a lot of time up there and others have as well…Ausable Forks and Jay and some other small towns up near the Lake Placid area are being devastated by river flooding created by ice jams right now. Videos from Ausable Forks are pretty heartbreaking.
