    Big storms and heavy rain tonight. Lots of lightning and thunder. Well over 3 inches here and probably approaching 4 when it's all said and done. Also snow around the corner.

    Yeah this has been one of the best looks we've seen in a bit especially for a widespread snowfall.

    Yeah this months rainfall has been very beneficial and I'd say before the end of March we will be in a surplus of rainfall.

    We don't need a complete split really. Heck look at last year. We had a split and then the rest of winter sucked because it because super strong after the split. We can do a lot with the tpv elongated still.

    There has been a sign of these lows digging deep, really deep. A lot of energy flying around currently. Just watch and look at the trends.

    There is so much energy flying around currently that I'm just looking at the pattern and evolution instead of one system. After Christmas buckle up because it's going to be a cold active pattern.

    Just my two cents but I think we don't end up seeing a big torch this winter. I think maybe west Tennessee may see the worst of it but I think the more east and south you get the better temps will be oddly but that's how Ninos go. I think we may see more of a lull than anything. But great analysis as always from @Carvers Gap. Hopefully we can score something the next 2 to 3 weeks.

    18z gfs looks like a nice event around the 29th and the 30 for the border counties. If the energy can drop low enough and rotate through several should see flakes.     Thank you! Yes so far we have been at or below average in the region Now we are going to be a bit above average right around Christmas for a week but then the pattern reshuffles.

    Yeah not really seeing anything that remotely resembles last year. I could care less about bone chilling cold. Give me 30 degrees with 2 feet of snow.
