  1. I measured 7" on the ground on Riverside Drive this morning, so glad to hear CPK reported 10" Anyone lamenting the fact that we didn't reach the high end potential has to go outside and absorb the fact that we have - at least here in the city - 7-10" of powdery snow blowing and drifting a week before Christmas. It is spectacular outside.
  2. @wdrag - can confirm 7 inches on the ground at 10 AM on Riverside Drive. Took measurements in the grass in multiple locations.
  3. Back from a walk about 30 minutes ago. Stunning , picture perfect. Approaching 5”of pure powder on UWS at 8 PM by my estimate. Pictures soon.
  4. Would have thought so. Last night there was even some remnant traces on the grass near Riverside Park.
  5. I'll take whatever we get this winter, but I am looking forward to any picturesque snow we get. We moved this fall and are right by Riverside Park... there are many Jebwalks in my future and I'll be amping my snow photography game again. We also have a good line of sight across multiple blocks that will allow me to estimate visibility with precision. So bring (whatever) on...
  6. Been living in this 20th floor apartment for 5 years and needless to say this is tops. Just howling.
  7. Looks like a nasty cell headed from Long Beach to queens/Brooklyn and then Manhattan.
  8. Nice. Jackpot over NYC. What are the ratios? 10:1?
  9. Really nice little storm. Perfect Saturday afternoon mood snow. Park was great and people were sledding.
  10. Yeah, I'll split the difference. Took some measurements - got 1" in several places on our terrace. Elevated places (tables, chair arms).
  11. What passes for excitement this winter...
  12. Back from a nice run in Central Park at 65 degrees. I'll take it. Reminds me of Christmas Eve 2015.
  13. just started at tip of Wall Street. We should get it longer.
  14. Angle of that line looks like it’s primed for maximum duration in Manhattan!
  15. Snowfall rates have appreciably lessened in past 30 + minutes in lower Manhattan. Visibility has gone from about 1/2 mile to well over (based on looking out my window across the river at Brooklyn). Snow has not stuck to anything.
  16. In my new job I actually have operational responsibilities requiring me to track snow When would the heavier snow potentially hit in the city? Is this going to derail the evening commute?
