I give you credit. One of my buddies in Ann Arbor was telling me he supports the closure of bars but goes to Grizzly Peak twice a week. Haha it’s like people like him who frequent these establishments are helping spread it
-
Yet so many on this board are about the closings. I’d venture to say many of the same people advocating this have been to bars and restaurants multiple times
-
Damn they're really rushing the grocery stores up north?
-
I personally hope we eventually have a shelter in place nationally soon. As an educated adult I do not have the ability to personally make decisions about my health and hope the government makes it for me
-
Why can’t you have thanksgiving with say 5-6? Did you see his posts. I’m worried he’s going to become an agoraphobe at this rate
-
Dude wear a mask and socially distance, you’ll be okay. Holy smokes you sound legitimately terrified to even leave your house at this point

Haha so which government programs should we take away to pay people for awhile. As someone in my 20s I’m part of the generation who will have to deal with this crushing federal debt for much longer. Do we have to sacrifice social security until 75 because of this? Pull all road repairs for the next year nationally? Considerably raise taxes? I’m absolutely tired of reading statements from the Treasury, media and politicians about how more stimulus is needed. Of course it’s a solution, but what are the repercussions of doing so? No one is really discussing this
-
Oh absolutely! Clear as day you can see night time launches

Well some of its politics. I frequently have been critical of Gov. Whitmer as well though as Michigan’s policies in my opinion are extreme. I know some will disagree and that’s okay, but it shouldn’t actually be a misdemeanor for someone with a computer based job to have to work from home. And back in the spring they set up checkpoints with Northern towns so people wouldn’t quarantine at their cottages. Now apparently if you go out to eat you have to give them your name and phone number? Have any Michiganders encountered this consistently?

Thought some of you would enjoy this. Clear night on the ocean so I snapped pics of the space shuttle launch -
60-80 mph gusts with that line today that steamed through Northern Ohio. Pictures from my dads house today. He said his Kestrel hit 71. Also photos from Oregon Ohio after the storm, water levels dropped significantly in the Western Basin today.

This isn’t true. Mike Dewine is a Republican governor and taken quite a bit of grief in Ohio. Hell some far right state reps tried to have him impeached lol. Biggest issue with a lot of this here is Americans are far and away the most skeptical populace in the Western world of their government. So things like this that require a National response and government actions are going to get heavy scrutiny because by and large we hate government. I think people forget we became a country because the British raised our taxes haha like that was the spark that ignited this thing. Fast forward 250 years and is it any shock we are still like this?

Well how much longer can we continue to put out “fires” if you will. I know it’s a major point of contention but I have a very difficult time accepting that states can mandate what businesses are allowed to be open. Closing retail stores for the Holidays would be disastrous.

Im going to try and watch it out at Folly

That’s awesome! 10-15’ off Pelee would be something to see -
La Nina's almost always lead to great Toledo winters, and prolific early spring flooding. I'd say the sweet spot for Toledo is a 50" winter. Perfect amount of consistent snow cover to allow for ample winter sports, yet at the same time isn't overwhelming. The 86" that fell in 2013-14 was too much. I loved snow but wow was it nearly impossible to get around rural communities that winter.

If you recall as well it was a very warm early Fall and then dropped off the table. The first week of October featured temps around 90 -

I remember this VIVIDLY. Was in Chicago for the week for work meetings. My beard was absolutely frozen walking around and the lake effect squalls in Indiana made the drive suck. I think Chicago got down to 4° at one point -
This is where a lack of rapid testing kills us. IMO there should be ZERO restrictions at this point. Should have testing available before entering stores, restaurants, bars, concerts, games. I know on my iPhone there’s an “Exposure Notification”. Not sure where this is even an option to be honest. It feels so arcane that we have to wear a fricking piece of cloth because we can’t technologically do this right.

Interesting read on ESPN.com http:// https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/30308543/golden-state-warriors-submit-plan-home-game-testing-allow-50-percent-fan-capacity The owner of the Warriors has a Masters in Public Health which is how he came up with this plan. It’s going to be interesting to see if this rapid testing can truly come to fruition and how much life will change once it does. It’s clear that financially these entertainment avenues are getting crushed over this. A lot of money in not only the operation of teams and holding concerts, but the construction as well. I mean heck Little Caesars Arena was almost a billion dollar build

Well liberals will say spend trillions more. Problem is read any serious paper, states are running out of money FAST. My company is worried about the lack of money available for infrastructure projects as the government continues to shell out absurd gobs of money with their tax revenues declining due to this. What happens when the dust settles? We’re going to have to raise interest rates and taxes considerably on all people to make up for the extreme level of government spending to get through this pandemic. Can’t throw away the entire 2020’s for this
-
How much longer can these companies go without receiving rent? Also go bleep yourself dude

Guys Shelter-In-Place is not a viable option. Definitely not a great time to be going out and doing things, but you’d have a Depression-era level wave of evictions and homelessness in this country if this were to occur. The NY Times ran a recent article saying as many as 13 million people are receiving emergency assistance from the government at this time. If we go back to April-type restrictions those less fortunate are finished financially. It’d be hard to “Shelter in Place” if you have no shelter. It’s a wartime mentality that this country needs to accept. Limit your casualties and keep moving forward as macabre as that is

Oh believe me I know, I spent quite a bit of my life fishing in the Western Basin

54 degree water temp in mid November is impressive for Cleveland. Hell even here the ocean is still 70 off Folly Beach so the fact that lake temps in November aren't far off ocean temps is wild. Could lead to an epic & snowy winter, bad winters almost always follow active Hurricane seasons
