  1. Maintaining any kind of snowpack this winter has been nearly impossible. My longest snowcover this winter was 5 days. The 1.7” that fell yesterday is all but nuked from the late February sun.
  2. I’m ready for longer days, more sun, warmer weather, boomers, and grilling. Just 10 more days and the days get longer. Hallelujah! That being said, looks like I’m going to string together some 50’s to open the month. Bring it on!
  3. Finished with 1.7” here, snow never really stuck to the pavement. We are now at 15.7” on the season and have done so with literally 1-2” snowfalls.
  4. Good luck on the move. South Carolina is a beautiful state. In fact my family and I almost relocated there back in 2006-2007.
  5. Yep same here. I would be fine being done with snow for the rest of the season, wouldn’t want to stat pad what has been a miserable winter for most.
  6. Mid February sun doing work. Only 32 outside, but melting is occurring.
  7. Just went for a cruise in rural Champaign. The N-S are roads are becoming drifted with blowing snow very quickly. Winds gusting over 30MPH as the arctic air moves in.
  8. 3.1” here in Champaign. Very picturesque snowfall, it’s beautiful outside.
  9. Dang you still did good. You’ve had the hot hand for quite sometime.
  10. I guess it’s time for me to become emotionally invested in this storm. Please don’t break my heart on the eve of Valentine’s Day.
  11. I’ll roll with the trend 1/2” here or bust.
  12. CMI 1-2” snowfalling it’s way to an average snowfall season.
  13. Had a period of slop, but temps have warmed to 35 degrees and all rain here. Warming to about 40 degrees, probably wiping out the “snowpack” we had. We’ve struggled keeping any snow on the ground this winter.
  14. Never have I seen getting to 6.8” on the year in such an abysmal way. Literally 1/2-1.5” snowfalls lol.
  15. Yeah no snow cover virtually all winter has allowed us to warm up substantially. Yesterday forecasted high was 5 degrees warmer than forecasted. It felt so nice, and really gave me the spring itch.
  16. Up to 65 in Champaign. Record is 66 set in 1890. Hope to see this record go down!
  17. Henry Margusity tweeted earlier that winter will be active for the next 2-3 weeks, and then an early spring this year. I’m down for that.
  18. 52 in Champaign. Should make a run at 60. Would honestly be fine if this “winter” was done and we blowtorched our way to spring.
  19. Gonna be the first to bring this up, but as far as temps and snowfall, this winter has rivaled 2011-2012 in terms of suckiness.
  20. Go ahead and pencil in a rainer for next weekend system, let’s follow the trend of weekend flood advisories. Euro ensembles agree as well.
  21. Two flood advisories. 4.86” rainfall. 1/2” snowfall. Temps 9.9 above average for the month. January 2020 recap for Champaign so far. The extended looks warm again.
  22. Not supporting the dude at all. Simply a good laugh during this horrible winter.
  23. It’s hard not to be discouraged. Ryan Maue tweeted earlier about the euro ensembles latching onto warmth flooding the eastern 2/3 by next weekend. One would think with a solar minimum, neutral ENSO, things would align better than this.
  24. He did a pivot from 2014-2015 and is now claiming 65-66 is a top analog. WB has been pounding the table, just like 65-66 winter will come roaring the 2nd half of the season! It’s comical.
