they just posted 9 forecasters on nj.com....most were very low, some said we gotta wait, but none predicting a lot, most said south jersey and the coast to jackpot, and one said passaic co.....so that's a selection of pros.....my friend just said to me, it isn't gonna snow is it?

its usually half a day and counts as a whole day; they have plenty of time to head out. at least in nj. some districts lost a lot of days so they are not gonna call if they can help it, as it starts to come out of april break, when teachers and kids are less likely to show up because they have other plans. a district i worked in tried to make the teachers pay for their substitutes if they showed they had tickets to go away already; only the nontenured went for it. me, i just went to work. i rarely travel. as half the kids were out, it was an easy week...think this was 96.

actually the superintendent. i walk with a retired one and he said he used to get up at 4 am and drive to 3 different schools with the head of maintenance; if that dude said no way, he called a snow day. and, he's a total weenie.

tough when working full time...you get exhausted. he's still young; i told him go for an advanced degree. even steve d had to sell suits at macy's for awhile. guy's gotta earn a paycheck.

i tell people if nothing else, follow him or nj 12. forget the guy's name at nj 12 as i don't have cable, but he is pretty good. or there's the kid at wegman's with the met degree from rutgers, or my neighbor with his met degree who works the window at micky d's....its' tough out there....i've known that kid since he was in grade school with my daughter. he's actually doing alright at mcdonalds, been there a decade.....of course he'd like to take lee goldberg's job....

viewers do not like hearing snow. they want to hear no snow.....i have friends right now saying it won't snow, it can't snow...not because of facts, but because they do not want it to snow....and those are the ones who are willing to even say the word...i know people who won't even say it.

i'm 63 and haven't watched in decades. 60 is young enough to have seen the rise of phones and social media.....

when i see you getting serious, and i believe you used to do the play by plays back in the day, before you had kids and mine were still little, i tend to check on the condition of my snow removal equipment. i need a tire on one of them....

he's not out to lunch, but he is nothing special either. in that business, no one should expect you to be bullseye on anything; i personally don't care for his forecasts but he is far from terrible. its probably ok to have a little skepticism this time of the year.

still looks like 2/6/10 to me....i remember the dt maps with 8-12 for us, we got close to bupkiss....this just wants to be a south jersey and south event for the time being....however, i'm not seeing all the confluence that happened back then....which some mets thought would not be enough to stop the storm in its tracks...we've seen it happen a few times since....i never like to see the south getting the brunt for us up here; we actually do a little better when the bulk is north of us. but hey, we'll see.....it is always heart breaking to see those bands stop at mid monmouth or skirt east. but we do not know that yet.....

lundberg def did not seem happy about snow, saying no one really wants it but what ca n you do....hard for people here to digest that most others feel that way.

just heard joe lundberg on 1010 saying the same thing; rt 1 in woodbridge closed both ways since this morning, what a mess. glad i'm retired. still got stuck in it at 630 on my way to walk; by 8 they were closing the northbound side as well. accident investigation. people can't drive in the rain, it seems. hope no one was killed.

Then take the good with the bad. You are always going to have whining here. And not everyone defines it the same way.

You can follow just the facts at nws. But it won’t be nearly as much fun.

Yeah I remember it; first year teaching in Jackson nj when it was still the frontier, before even the freehold mall, which is now on last legs…they canceled school and we never saw a flake.

yes but it was a bust south of there; the second coming was advertised, and we got slush and sleet....we know areas to the north can get big snows in march; but it is rare down here. only a handful over 11 inches in the city in march. so, even with this one here, until i see significant snow on my doorstep, i will be dismissive, we are close enough to the endgame of winter here. i do hope something happens; i will call 3-6 a big win.
