maybe we nickel and dime our way to average this year.

just peeked outside..wife let the dogs out and they won't come in. they are having a grand time in the snow. picked up in intensity; battling a stuffy nose; have had shots for flu, covid, rsv, pneumonia....and i still managed to get something.

struggling to get another inch' its just not coming down hard enough here. its mostly mood snow. yesterday's event was more substantial out here.

my bil is in keansburg and reported nothing all day. might be getting something now.

what drives me crazy is the damn tapatalk on the phone....i cannot get rid of it.

looks nice out though. gotta take what we can get. 2 days of snow and not all that much to show for it lol. but we still like it. seen winters where this much didn't happen....cold enoug, from what i read here, to maybe stick around.

unless these rates pick up, i have a hard time seeing it. basically we were done by 11 am over here; what fell since actually melted, and of course we had sleet too. gun to my head, i'd say our immediate area is mostly done, but so what? none of these events were anything to lose your head over; we're just happy to not have a total ratter of a winter. one of these puppies should be decent going forward, decent being 4-8. just my two cents.

local media was saying we could get 5....could being the active word....but 3 was more in line. i believe it was wnyc; at the time, around 11 am, it had turned to light sleet; switched back to snow for a bit, but has done nothing notable since, so am hoping for that later burst. but overall, happy with the weekend.

gotta say that's pretty lame. what exactly are we waiting for? already got around 2 inches or so here in cnj......thought more was expected. whatever, nice weekend. got more good photos.

seen it accumulate 7 inches in april 2003 with those temps; nearly got stuck on the gsp.

not in 94 it didn't, or 96. never know.

and you were unmistakable on each of them; meanies would heap abuse and you never, ever were disrespectful. you have a thick skin.

back in the day we use to get those shocks....you never were ready....jan 1987 was an example; there was no internet or anything, no cellphones....i went to work in the shipping and receiving dept of the bell towers in piscataway, it being the only job an english degree could get me, and a temp job at that, and by 10 am they were sending everyone home. took me several hours in white out conditions; march 92 also was a surprise, two late storms.

i wouldn't go that far; its been piddly events for lots of us followed by a dry warm stretch. hopefully that is turning around. today we got a surprise 2.2 inches imby, if RU is accurate; when i emerged from the theater, after suffering through 3 hours of avatar, wondering when it would end, i was shocked to see plowable snow; the mall was busy too. i. guess we're around 10-12 for the season. we would need a lot more of these events to get to seasonal average here; i think we have been in a drier climate a few years, so a big daddy is probably unlikely, though i lucked out in feb 2024 with that 10-12 inch storm.

these small events are hard to pin down.

i go out for a bit and come back, people are honking 5-6 inches...a few runs later, light snow or rain.....it's maddening so i'll check back later, being dragged to a movie i don't wanna see....family time. avatar. hopefully i can catch some zz's.

they change every run so that leaves me with no confidence. we'll see what happens.

forky too. but let's face it, not much has gone our way the last few years, so we gotta take what we get. its why i made sure to get some photos in december for those small events, because that could be it. still a ways to go this winter and we should see something again, but those years of 50 inch winters are over it seems, and i ain't getting younger.

both were lackluster here, but nemo was better because we didn't expect much to begin with; jan 2015 they pulled the rug out at the last minute. 2015 was a rather disappointing year out this way, but still better than recent years....
