Radar looks pretty good though (in this case bad)

Brief downpour here currently, latest NWS discussion believes the eastern Pa stuff survives as it moves east. Hrrr was discounted

Another great day with temps in the 80s and very dry with dew points in the 50s. I wish this perfect weather could continue tomorrow for the 4th (my favorite holiday), but it doesn't look too bad. I see 12z runs of NAM 3km and HRRR have pretty much nothing for our area through fireworks time, and RGEM has only isolated activity. Looks like a good chance that we'll be ok for cookouts and fireworks, but will keep an eye on radar just in case. I hope everyone here has a great holiday!

The euro ruins firework times tomorrow

Looks like a Florida pattern has we head into the extended July 4th weekend. PWATS over 2.00” and 75°+dew points. So as soon as we reach convective temperatures each day the thunderstorms will pop up.

Yes! Warm muggies with rain in the afternoon. Love this type of pattern

Much wetter pattern starting to show up now that the models have a cutoff low to our west in early July. Interesting how most times in recent years following 100° heat it has turned wet. So not much chance in the immediate future of seeing a repeat of the 100° heat in late June. The high dew points and active convection pattern should be the big story.

About the same for me over in Somerset. My Davis shows a maximum rain rate of 13.40"/hr, which may be the highest I've ever seen! Obviously, that magnitude doesn't last very long, but impressive nonetheless.

Yup. The high pwats did the dirty work today

I got a quick 0.28" from that downpour. Like you said more to the west, so we should end up getting a good amount of rain. The severe t-storm warning sure was a bust though. Very weak other than the downpour.

    Yeah, nothing severe

SNJ was the jackpot zone today for the heaviest rainfall with the record dew points. Areas got over 6.00” of rain today while recording under 1.00” from June 1st to 29th. So the month will finish with well above normal rainfall in those areas. A continuation of the heavy rains at the end of dry patterns being more impressive than the dry patterns were.

The NNE wet pattern finally sagging south

I see another cell just popped up behind that storm. Also watching the activity a little further to the south that will be moving into southern Hunterdon. That could make it to Middlesex as well, but might miss just to our south. Hopefully it won't be a case of storms missing just a few miles to the north and few miles to the south, but we'll see. It's going to be close.

Yeah, stuff really having a difficult time organizing. Might get its act together south of our area
