Yeah, it actually takes a lot of the fun out of storms with how well things are handled around here. Some nights when I'm out chasing I get so sad when I see a plow ruining all the fun. Would love to have a storm where there were no plows or salts trucks for 24 hours. Just let that snow pile up on the roads!
I know you’re being facetious (I think) but the danger of not plowing is the inability of people to make it to the hospital in the event of a medical emergency. My mother was on dialysis at the end of her life and I used to worry every time there was heavy snow in the forecast about her making it to the dialysis center.

Open up here. Bville apparently cancelled after school activities.
Yum!
What’s your temperature like? I’m still at 35 with light wet snow falling. It’s still too warm for any accumulation especially during the day. I know the temperature is supposed to fall during the day but I hate seeing this snow melt when it hits the ground.

We need to get surface temperatures down a few degrees to start getting accumulations. It’s still in the mid 30s here and surfaces are wet.

The schools here could be in a bit of a quagmire. They just left but it could get hairy later…
Just flipped over to snow here in the last 15 minutes. It looks like many schools have closed for the day even though there is yet to be any accumulation in the Syracuse area.

What's it matter your getting 3 inches anyway
What matters is you’re posting maps and nobody but you knows what they’re looking at.

Was my moms favorite restaurant growing up. Used to love playing the games on the table and the checkers in the store connected to it. I loved that place.
I used to take my mother there. It was nice sitting near their huge fireplace, especially when it was decorated for Christmas.

Interesting Pearson still reporting 35F and rain. But Toronto has large geographical area so changeover would probably start north of 407 and then make its way to lake. Island is still 36-37F and rain
The updated report from Pearson at 5:33 has snow starting to mix in with the rain.

Sometimes that's what happens before the good ones...
NYC was in the 70s the day before the Blizzard of 1888 hit. Of course it was mid March.

What? No swim? "Free them hairy legs!"
He’d have to chop a hole through the ice on his pool. It would more of a polar plunge.

Where is he, we miss his input.

Still holding at 27 here. I went to bed at 2 and it was 30 and I felt like the temperature was on the way up but it actually fell again overnight. Yesterday was close to 40 but the extremely low dew points in the teens kept melting at a minimum.

I wouldn't go with the Weather Channel. I feel like their forecasts are very general/regional and not focused on the specific details/conditions.
Oh I’m not but I just found it interesting that they feel the change will be so late.

When do we think we’ll switch from rain to snow tomorrow. I felt the models were showing the flip around sunrise but the forecast on the Weather Channel didn’t have the change until noon.

This will be a heavy, wet snow, at least initially. The forecaster's discussion yesterday evening stated that ratios of 6:1 to as low as 4:1 are probable.
I would say 4:1 is basically sleet. I don’t know know if we ever have snow at 4:1.

The temperature has finally fallen to freezing. Maybe we can start to get some accumulation now.
