March sun is overrated. Once you get into April then you can talk strong sun
I have to disagree with you. As we get into March the increasing sun angle makes it more and more difficult to accumulate snow during the day, especially on paved surfaces. Once we get past mid month snowfall like we had yesterday will get obliterated by the sun within a day even with temperatures in the 20s.

The band is moving south, should be here soon in a diminished state.

I was wondering about that as well. The one for here meshes with the Warning issued by Buffalo NWS. I wonder if in warning situations as this, if "NWS Zones" take a less priority and the warning just goes for whatever specific area falls within a particular "shape area" that any NWS office issues.
You’re about to get nailed.

How are they issuing these snow squall warnings? Currently there’s one issued for only the northwestern part of Onondaga county. Obviously it’s going to hit the whole county so why not issue a warning that covers the whole county.

Currently a whiteout on the SUNY Oswego webcam. It was cool watching the squall come in off the lake.

You guys seem to be downplaying the squall line that should move through in the morning. It could be intense for a short time.
-
Getting off and on snow showers, some of which are quite intense. Maybe the best flake size of the winter. Getting hard to measure because whenever the snow lets up the sun melts whatever has fallen.

Huge fluffers coming down heavily. BY FAR the best winter day of the season!!! Even if doesn't end up being our heaviest snowfall of the season, it's awesome outside. Like Buffalowx said weeks ago, sometimes we need to get a cutter to get our best snowfalls here. Went from our most Spring-like day of the season yesterday, to glorious winter today. If we keep getting these heavy bands through the afternoon, I could see the northwest Onondaga county area getting a half foot for the day by evening rush hour.
And northeast Onondaga county might get an inch.

We have those narrow bands of heavier snow coming off the lake. As soon as I made that post about only having flurries one of the bands moved over me. Now getting probably moderate snow right now.

Snowing pretty decent here despite radar not looking great. Probably closing in on 2" net
If you’re at your house I’m amazed at the difference in weather conditions between there and here. I’ve had nothing more than flurries for most of the morning. Still less than an inch of accumulation.

Snowing lightly right now, maybe a half inch down so far. 21 degrees, everything is frozen solid. Just patches of snowpack left.

Snow has reached KROC. Down to 37 here.

Heavy snow here in Toronto at the moment. We should get 6" at least, think there's a chance for 8-10".
Looking at the CN Tower cam the city is completely obscured.

Somehow the glacier hasn't been too abused today. Pretty wild retention. Worked way down in Poughkeepsie today and felt like May.
Our pack took a pretty big hit today. Still big patches of snow but a lot of bare ground.

Upstate/Eastern New York-Pattern Change Vs Tughill Curse?

I’m not disagreeing that we can’t get big snowstorms even into early April. What I’m saying is that even if you get a foot of snow on March 20 the temperature within a day is usually in the 40s and that snowfall is running into the sewers.
