The NWS Binghamton measurement shows 14.2" of snow for Binghamton. That would surpass the existing April record of 13.9" from April 15-17, 2007. The two-day mark is 13.6" from April 15-16, 2007, which would also be exceeded.

That puts Binghamton ahead of Syracuse and into third place in the golden snowball race.

It's brutal here in the lowlands. Given the lack of LES and synoptic here the past few seasons, events like these are just another kick in the gonads for us. Up to 2" here...

Especially when the amount of liquid was almost an inch so you get an idea of the potential if we didn’t get screwed by the temperature

Not here. Sun shining brightly. This has been a much better winter for the NW snowbelts than the W and WNW snowbelts. Southern Oswego and Northern Onondaga have been skipped so often.

Just under  3 inches here since Saturday.  Yesterday was a net loss for snow cover.  When you look at the radar you can see the importance of orographics in an event like this.

Yawn. The Syracuse suckfest continues on. I hate NW flow lake effect. We maybe have gotten two inches, but it melts, then a new dusting, then melts... somewhat of a snowcover, but hard to get much more with the crap elevation and the ever-so-typical showery scope of lake effect. We rarely ever see consistent snowfall like the Tug and Buffalo areas. I am sure this will put BGM over SYR even though we were "supposed" to get more.

Your expectations always exceed reality. The 2 inches I got today exceeded my expectations and if the majority hadn’t fallen during the night I wouldn’t have gotten that. Don’t forget our sun angle is now the same as mid September’s and the normal high is in the mid 40s and rising every day.

  5. After my 2 Civics I thought I’d try something different so I bought a 2012 Chevy Cruze with a 6 speed manual. It wasn’t quite as reliable as my Civics but it was a nice little cruiser on the thruway from Brewerton to Utica. Last year it was 9 years old with almost 150K miles on it so I decided it was time for a new one. Since retiring I’m only putting about 7K on a year so I decided to splurge and lease a nicer vehicle. I leased a 2021 Mazda CX-5 GTR which I love so far.
