Just got back from DC. Oldest Ms. J was checking out her new apartment. We headed to IKEA and then looked at radar. Told her we needed to not linger. Got to 270 and saw the line coming in and ditched to 28. Made a good decision to do that as 270 got slammed. At home got 0.37”. Hoping for a bit more but will take what I can get.

Mr. J asked me what it got down to overnight. I told him just wait I can look at my station records. It got down to 75 at 5:24am. I agree with @H2O about getting some rain today would be nice.

10:30 with a temp of 86 and a Heat Index of 97. Am seeing lightning all around but even with all this soup have not been able to squeeze an inch of rain out.

My station page is showing my last rain even was 2 days ago. Mind you that was only 0.04. I have had to get into the mode of watering my gardens every other day after such a wet May early June.

Getting occasional flashes of lightning to my East. Not really seeing much on radar.

So nice to not be up at the crack of dawn for my youngest to ride. She is currently rehabbing her pony as a nice light rain shower is coming down here in Aldie. Birds are singing all over.

I think my PWS is broken. It is showing it is 66 out. Really though while we missed out on the rain over here I am glad for this one day of gloom and lower temps before the oven cranks back on tomorrow. I have a feeling though looking into next week that I will be out watering the gardens.

Seeing lightning all around me. But no rain yesterday or today. Went out tonight and watered my front garden beds.

Over on Furnace Mountain watching that storm to the NW blow a nice gust front as it dies.

Getting some thunder guessing off of that warned storm to my NE. I am currently sitting in the Ballenger Split zone.

94.6 with a dew of 78.1. I like a lot of natural light in my house. But have kept all the blinds closed and the house fan on to help the AC not come on as much. Meanwhile sitting here eating leftover Greek rubbed pork tenderloin bites with some homemade Tzatziki. With one of the cats stalking me thinking he will get a quick drive by of pork.

One of our cats setting the tone for today. Crashed out under a ceiling fan. Current temps here are 89/76 feels like 101 already.

Dad of the year award! I found out I can cook bacon in the air Fryer. Just had some BLEAT’s for dinner.

Even being in air the idea of eating anything right now is not on my mind.

Just took the younger Ms.J down to rehab her pony with a tack walk. Went as early as we could. Now have her back checking out of her house stay as she watches dogs. Even in the shade with a slight breeze it is nasty. They have a concert at Nats Stadium tonight and I told them that they need water up all day. But also will know the Metro will be running slower on above ground rail because of the heat. Currently in my backyard

7:15 and 81. Checked my station stats and looks like it never got lower than 80 overnight. The two Ms J’s have had tickets for a concert at Nats Stadium for a few months now. It is tonight and I am not going to lie I am concerned about them being out in these temps for it. They will be in the stands and covered but still has me worried.

Taking advantage of this lower humidity and temp day. Lunch back out on the deck. And the cats are happy the catio is back open. Beautiful breeze right now.

Yes I think the Northern end might be in that spot. I currently have .44” but it is still coming down.

Blue skies here this morning few scattered clouds. At 9:15 it is 82 with humidity at 81 and dew point at 75. Went from living in England over the weekend to the armpit of the SE in GA where Mr. J lived for a while.

Steady rain here again with some nice rolling thunder.

Went from .03” to .93” from that line last night. 4.37” for the month. That lightning early this morning was the most intense I have seen for sometime. It was non stop.
