  1. 6Z GFS more or less kicking the can down the road on summer until August...frequent nights in the 50's for PA.
  2. 66 here this Am. Yanks and Sox game was allowed to go on but Yanks still did not show up. Edit-EC has little to no precip making it to the LSV today.
  3. HRRR has been broadcasting M/D line all day. Random winners. Have to say though that the short terms models did not forecast the line going through the LSV right now.
  4. We have only had about 1.5" of rain in the last 40 days or so. A Have Not. Just 20 miles North of me and they have had 5-6" just this month. We are officially in drought but we won't be listed because the square mile area where it is taking place is too small even for a little yellow dot. One of the USGS employees lives in Hagerstown and I have the pleasure of communicating with him.
  5. Radar Estimated going for close to 1.2" now near Hershey.
  6. The southern of the two areas took control and is actually fairly vigorous right now. Probably going to see some .5 to 1" reports out of it.
  7. On the ground report that Red Robin in Colonial Park is getting the goods. The worst part about that is one of my friends is enjoying unlimited fries and I am not. LOL
  8. I am thinking we cloud up over here earlier tomorrow and it keeps temps in the 90-93 area. You guys might go for 100 worst case! Hard to find a day it does not rain in or around Harrisburg.
  9. We made it to 97 but have retreated to 93 as some clouds have come into play. Lots of 97-99's in Franklin on Wundermap. Chance today is the hottest day we have until 2022. I said chance....if it gets hotter again. LOL.
  10. I read that heatwave in 1988 killed between 5000 and 10000 people nationwide. 2-5x the death toll for 9/11.
  11. Agreed though if anyone does (before dark), you have the best chance. I do think some in the LSV see some random showers overnight.
  12. That line coming through Western PA right now looks like the real deal but everything I looked at has it shrinking to the N/E before doing much damage in the LSV.
  13. I was in Philly in the Mid 90's so was not around here to remember but checked the NWS stats and the highest Min MDT recorded in recent times was 81 in August 2011. So probably more localized if Mid 80's. They did have a day, July 1995, where it got down to 80 for a Max Min. The record is August 9th 1900 @ 83. In 1991 MDT was over 100 3 out of 5 days late in July.
  14. The stat is extreme heat. Bring in the homeless type stuff.
  15. 96 here now. Today will end up being one of our hottest days this year. 32 degree jump from this AM.
  16. Looks like Pillow could be in line for a fluffing...if the cell does not dissolve. Guess it could escape south a bit.
  17. Cannot imagine it. I have my own heat stories of playing tennis in Florida mid day July and its brutal and some what unhealthy but it was never in the 104 area. Always 95-98.
  18. Yea, plus MDT has hit 104 or 103 some 7-8 times now. So it does not look like this year is the year to break it but it may be broken some day.
  19. MDT clocked in with their second highest temp ever on the same day in 1988. 104. Also hit 104 two days in 1918 and 2 days in 1966. Also, Euro now has the trough next weekend.
  20. Plus there is certainly nothing to suggest you make a run at the 97 mark going into August.
  21. Its not impossible that we see some 40's in PA Sunday AM.
  22. I think today is our hot day over here. We are sitting at 90 and primed to make a run at a 30 degree jump from the AM low of 64. Assuming one of the random shower's forming does not get us.
  23. Yes, if I keep saying it people will just get more sick of me saying it but verbatim the GFS is cool and way too dry. Forget how dry I am here. Some people who have received rain this week will be a dust bowl in 10 days if the GFS were to play out. And tomorrows rain is looking less and less impressive but models could be wrong and we get a deluge. Really, a lot of rain tomorrow will not help much if we have two weeks of little rain.
