Under 12" for the year here. This is not as bad as the Drought of 2020 when we had about 8-9" at this point. We should be around 19" using HGR's normals.
A smokey 66 this AM. The panels on the HRRR show the smoke but the density is not that bad....ground truth here, it is about 75% bad as it was at its worse.
Yea, did not think of that. Today really drives home our inability to forecast convection. The 3K has not been doing well lately but this graphic is worth it just due to the length of the line.
So do we. Sky high prices. My roof area (not related to the house size) is 2300 sq feet and decent shingle job will be $13,000. I have no damage to try and get insurance to cover it.
I should have used the word HVAC system although in my case it is just air conditioning as our heat is a mix of oil and electric and does not go through the ducts.
You probably just needed the outside unit then. Our outside unit is 30+ years old so the whole system (not the ducts, but the blower/air handler upstairs) would need replaced.
The HRRR shows a moderate level today (we are in a Code Orange as well) buy the piece of energy rolling through later this morning/afternoon helps usher some out....but still some smoke Sat, just not at the level shown below.
