  1. I was wondering if you might make a run for 0 but just the same, Rgem with the nice call for out of the city temps last night. It is in its wheelhouse with low wind/high pressures overhead.
  2. They have a haunted history, it is unfortunate. 10 degrees this Am.
  3. 7AM temps for tomorrow AM near MDT: HRRR-19 RRFS-18 3K-16 NWS Zones-10 RGEM-6
  4. MR GFS so just a discussion and not a forecast, the coldest air on our side of the Northern Hemisphere is close enough to us from Jan 29-Feb 4th to merit watching for anything. MDT does not go above 43-45 any day and some days stays below or right near freezing all day. Central and Western Canada folks are using their outdoor swimming pools (because they are crazy) during some of this time.
  5. I think we need something to time up with this feature coming down AFTER the 28th storm....3-4 consecutive days of BN or near normal temps. Either way the blinds are open but we are not going to see much if that trough escapes with no capture of a low. GFS a couple days ago showed it.
  6. I am having a hard time buying anything on the 28th vs. 30th, 31st.
  7. 26 here and still bad drifting on the roads. Dicey travel conditions.
  8. 16 this AM. Models all over the place with next weekend into the following week. Euro shows frozen over the LSV now for the 28th storm but still no development afterwards. GFS trough placement is a bit farther offshore so that is a step back but still spreads light snow into the area on the 31st as a piece of energy goes by to the south. CMC has the clipper provide light snow on the 30th AND has some frozen in much of PA as soon as Wed as a 1039 high pushes light CAD down the apps.
  9. Yea, seeing Jordan Love have a shot to be n the SB would have been great. More exciting story than the Niners, IMO.
  10. Over amped on this one because of all the blind shitting (that stinks!) but the clipper coming a bit farther south would sharpen the trough and try to keep the southern stream energy closer (not going to say phase) with us in the deep freeze at that point. Maybe (probably?) a fairy tale but it is something to monitor.
  11. I think our best shot, IF the GFS depiction of the 28th low heading into NE Canada is right, is this period if we can get the clipper 100-200 miles south. Work some magic with that low forming off the NC coast. The coldest air on this side of the globe is sitting right above us.
  12. I worry it would be hard for that one to produce for us with little cold air around prior to its arrival. The temps are above freezing at 2M even where it shows snow. It does have some snow showers in the MA as an artic front cross the LSV 2-3 days after this system but we would need the clipper bringing the front to dig more like it was a few runs ago. Highs below freezing the 31'st.
  13. The Stage Setter (probably not this run though as the 31rst clipper is coming in a bit too far north) is a decent slop snow for half of PA on the 18Z GFS.
  14. Canadian still sounding the warning for Monday AM. If still there tomorrow, might be some truth to it. Valley signal on the map....altitudes are warmer. Also, my ABS brakes kicked in twice today in snow drift areas of roads. Scary...ABS brakes and snow/ice do not mix.
  15. I saw the lines as we drove to the top of the hill and back down after turning out of the parking area. I assumed at least 15 min. Glad they are getting business. I can ski some but a bit cold today with the wind.
  16. Good analogy. It is like a basement version of Josiah Chownings.
  17. We have gone there often; it is more about the ambiance than the food though the food is fine. They make a mean Black Bean Burger. Real fire candles on the tables...like eating in a Pub during the mid 1700's. Even the walk downstairs is a skinny hall to let you know this is an old building. Only seats about 12-15 parties at once so crazy busy during the summer. Not to be mistaken with the dinner side at the top which is a $$$$ place. This is the lunch place downstairs where the poor people go.
  18. That low has to be the one to set the table for snow chances 1-4 days afterwards. No cold air going into this ones arrival. Blinds open though.
  19. Yea, we knew it would be busy but that was too much. Ended up at the Dobbin House in Gettysburg.
  20. We were going there for lunch but turned around when the police were directing us to the far parking area.
  21. Yea there so many different flake types for one storm....I saw a lot of interesting posts mentioning how they changed so often. That Mann band before and just after morning was defintely 15 or more I would think.
