    Noisy little storm moving through here and looks like the main event incoming from the west now.

    I watched a movie called Troll Hunter last night. Silly but fun found footage style movie in Norwegian with subtitles. A lot of outdoor scenery in Norway that made we want to visit some day. I think it was raining or snowing in most of the shots.

    Tempo dust took care of my yellow jacket problem. Just put some around where they are going in and out of the nest and they track it inside, killing the workers and the nest. It's not an immediate kill like a spray but very effective where you might not have a direct shot at the nest itself.

    Lawn is devastated. Looks worse than it did back at the end of May. This pattern can shove off already.

    Definitely notice that up here at camp. Could walk the dogs around the house after dark and this morning and didn’t get one bite. .

    Lake living the next couple days. Had a stray downpour come over last night just as I was grilling up dinner...fun times. .

    Saw this on the first episode of a Netflix show called Connected. The veery bird says the 2020 season may not be as bad as NOAA is predicting... https://www.audubon.org/news/are-these-birds-better-computers-predicting-hurricane-seasons “Whatever it is, they know by mid-May,” he says, explaining that the average date of all nesting attempts in years with low ACE was after May 23. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

    I love my local beers, but once in a while the easy, "soda pop" pilsners have their place. I just bought some Modelo and Peroni, which I have never done before to my knowledge. Add lime and they hit the spot in the summer.

    Yeah, I've seen that lake turn nasty on a NW wind that kicked in the morning after a frontal passage in September. Went from calm to frothing in about 20 minutes...almost swamped the boat when we got eventually got back to the ramp and tried pulling it out.

    Sea fog earlier cleared out and sun breaking through. Breezy and tropical feeling. KPSM reporting 75/72.

    Looks like we'll avoid the basement flooding, which is fine by me, but hoping for a few decent thunderstorms with this to help the garden. Might be some good wind reports from IOSN but I think my biggest issue here will be whether the outdoor furniture stays upright.

    Staying high and dry here so all systems go for rotisserie lamb with garlic and herbs (should there be a grilling thread? ) .

    Are you on Sable Island year-round? Must get some pretty wild stuff out there....would be nice to spend a week out there in winter.

    Hot day working in the yard. But I have to say, coming into the house with the new AC system was pretty nice. The best part is that it's mostly imperceptible since it runs so quietly but gets the job done. The indoor wall units will eventually just become part of the background but the first couple days they looked a little awkward given that our rooms are fairly small. Glad we made the investment.

    61/55. Got our new mini-split AC installed today. Funny that it fell on a day when we had no need for it at all. Will give it a good test this weekend.
