    I've gotten three rounds and over an inch of rain. The last storm packed a punch and my power is out.

    Looking at the QBO readings, it's rising currently and on average it rises for 7 months then begins falling. It should begin falling in Jan or February. From what I read a few years ago, the actual reading didn't matter regarding enhanced blocking, the direction of the QBO is what mattered. If the reading was negative but rising, it meant less blocking. If it was positive but falling, it meant blocking was more likely.

    It's crazy that probably 80 miles as the crow files means 15 inches or so difference in average yearly rainfall totals.

    Just had another soaker. The storms aren't large in area but they absolutely flood down rain. They are odd in that the thunder is frequent as they approach, then it rains very hard with virtually no thunder, then once they pass you hear the thunder again. The Euro ens is advertising around 200 percent of normal rain across the forum area the next two weeks. We'll see if it comes to pass but I'm definitely off to a good start imby.

    Pulled off two different storms today. The last one around 5:20-5:50 produced minor street flooding. It felt miserable between them but the air temperature wasn't too bad.

    Had a 30 minute thunderstorm around 1pm today. Capped the heating and only made 88. Glad for any moisture in the leaf bed before fall. Hopefully the rain the rest of the week comes to fruition.

    Getting some July 1995 vibes now. It was a La Nina that transitioned from a moderate El Nino. The heat cranked up on July 10th that year and stayed pedal to the floor into August. The rainiest day of the month was .09 in Knoxville and the monthly rain total was only .33 inches. Knoxville had 14 days of 95+ in July and 13 more in August. August 12th-19th went 96, 98, 98, 99, 100, 99, 98, 98. August was a bit wetter with 2 inches. Summer finally broke down in September and we actually had a cold fall and very cold winter. This year the heat and dry weather started a bit earlier and hasn't been quite as severe as 1995 yet. Hopefully it doesn't last a solid 8 weeks like it did in the summer of 1995.

    It's crazy warm tonight with the hurricane remnants bringing all the tropical air north. It's 1:30 am and 77 degrees and I'm one of the cool spots. It's still 82 at Tri-Cities, 81 at Knoxville, Nooga, Middleboro, and 80 at Morristown.

    Had about 3 minutes of heavy rain then it went away and the sun came back out. The 6-10 and 8-14 say AN precip, but it's not the first time it has and it didn't happen.

    Looks like the southern valley is getting soaked. Hopefully it can work north. My rain chance went from 30 percent to 50 percent for tomorrow, in the last couple of hours.

    Rain popped up just to my south and will likely miss me barring redevelopment. MRX forecast barely any rain the next 7 days but has thunderstorms in the forecast every day. If you get under one you're likely to get dumped on. Because it clouded up, we only made the mid 80s today.

    Ended up with 1.7 inches of rain yesterday and today. Hopefully it keeps up through the weekend. The wetter it gets, the harder it is to get really hot.

    Been a while since we had a long slow soaker like this. Had a thunderstorm with heavy rain, then another round of storms, just steady moderate rain for an hour and a half or so since.

    After dipping to 58 this morning, it got up to 89 this afternoon but the lower humidity kept it feeling better than some of the days we had 83-85 degrees with low 70s dps.

    Clouded up today and we only made 85 again. The Northeast can keep the heat and I'll keep hoping for some Sunday evening or night rain, and hope the second shot delivers too.

    Hopefully we get a few showers soon. I was just missed on both sides a few days ago. The heatwave itself isn't too bad here. I've not hit 90 yet. It only got up to 85 yesterday and it 85 right now. It is humid though but not the low 70s dps I had a few days ago.

    Surprised the terrain isn't generating thunderstorms here so far today. The Eastern mountains, the Highland Rim and Southern Plateau seem to be. Especially since the dp is 72. That's usually an almost automatic thunderstorm here.

    After an open windows night last night, with a low of 52, the house cooled way down into the mid 60s. So got by again today with no ac. The humidity got up a little today and the high was 78.

    Also, the GFS is all over the place on temps, mainly due to rain. But the western 2/3rds of the forum area have a lot or BN periods depicted over the next two weeks. The cpc extended maps are deep reds. The GFS has lots of blues and even purples and pinks over the South and Southeast.

    The rain today is once again free of thunder in my area but it absolutely poured down those huge drops, caused minor street flooding. Looks like we get hot late week and next weekend. Was hoping we'd make it through June without feeling it.

    Had an epic downpour this morning. Another moderate shower this afternoon. Still an 80 percent chance tonight. Zero thunder with these showers the last few days. Yesterday we had a big gust front with strong winds but no thunder. I'm on the too rainy side of things and my tomato plants are feeling the stress of it.

    Heavy rain again this evening. First four days of June have featured rain and cooler than normal temps. It was sticky out there today but sticky and 78 is a lot better than sticky and 93.

    Wasn't expecting rain today but have a legit downpour working through over the last 10 minutes. No thunder though.

    The boring season continues here but the first two weeks of Met summer look favorable as far as us not roasting goes. The 6-10 day and 8-14 day outlook favors BN temps and near to bn precip. The first two days of met summer have produced low 70s yesterday and only mid-60s at 1pm here with rainfall both days. The countdown is on until the first true cold front of fall.
