  1. This is a big rip-off for most, and a huge cash cow for the rental agencies (which is why they scare you into getting it). Check with your insurance company--you're likely covered. I don't know, Jerry. I think a short leash works best.
  2. And so it begins in the the netherlands. Mixed precip is also likely for Far Nrn and Nern ptns of the FA shortly after precip onset late this aftn and erly eve, with this area possibly retaining deeper cold air alf longer into the ovrngt as weak dynamic cooling alf with the passage of the s/wv trof may partially erase the elevated abv fzg warm layer alf between 7000 and 10000 ft msl, allowing both sn and sleet to mix with or briefly replace rn at times into the late ngt hrs spcly toward the St John vly. In fact 00z GFS BUFKIT soundings show a pd of all sn for both KCAR and KFVE from mid eve til about 1 to 2 am Mon before both BL and warming alf win the battle during the pre- dawn erly morn hrs, chgng mixed precip to rn. 3. I'm happy to see us turning the thread calendar to November. It's time.
  4. Thanks--way ahead of these oaks. This is my memory from growing up. Actually, I grew up in New London (CT), so it was more likely brown leaves over brown grass.
  5. Remind me......when do oaks lose (at least most) of their leaves? I hadn't had any since I was a kid and I recall they hang on forever.
  6. If only there were any free sites that gave half-way decent information and time intervals for the EC. If there are any, I'm open to learning about them!
  7. Given radar being down, I'm not sure if any more rain is en route. For now, .64".
  8. I'm hoping for torrential rains on Halloween. I really don't like having people coming to the door.
  9. 9* temp differential between ORH and mi casa this morning. 43 vs. 34. I'm guessing it's the difference between a light breeze (5-7mph) and none.
  10. Just came across this picture of New London Ledge in the storm this week. Not your typical LIS seas.
  11. I can't remember when my wife's birthday is..... 33* at the moment. Coldest morning of the fall so far.
  12. I passed a recycling bin that blew onto pleasant street in Worcester. We try to keep safe.
  13. Righteous gust! I hope you find other good things to report from the analysis you did. ORH managed a 44 mph gust. Let's see what todau brings. Even with the dryslot, we had 3.21" of rain so far. .
  14. That map goes from "wow" to "meh" in just a few miles.
  15. If I didn't have the eye doctor tomorrow morning, I'd be heading up to PIT2 for this one. I'm still counting on the NW winds being the best for those away from the south and east coasts. My daughter's school in Marion might be blown away. Meanwhile, coldest night of the year so far in my hood. 36* so far.
