For clarification--are you thinking the January pattern will persist through the end of the month? And when you say "balance of the season" you're referring to February and March only?

On the upside, unless we continue to rain incessantly, we won't have much of a mud season.
Even better, maybe the gypsy moth catelpillars will all hatch in March with no foliaige to eat driving them to extinction.
Regardless of whether the season turns around, I'd much rather have an early loaded season than a later one.
Higher sun angles and lengthening days get me thinking of fishing rather than snowpack.
