This, 100 percent. The front grabs the band, intensifies it, moves it boldly due south and it evaporates like a fart in the wind about 1 hour later. That 1 hour is usually fun but there is no stalling an arctic boundary on a Northerly flow. We barely even get the scraps.
Glad I didn't get any hope up !

Noontime TV mets saying the band in central Oswego County moves south tonight courtesy of the artic front.
Historically, when this setup occurs, do the fronts pass quickly or can they stall and band overperforms?
Mets saying 3-6, closer to the 6 for Syr and surrounding towns they say and I gather northern burbs will get into it first
Thanks !

About 1.5 inches OTG in Cicero; hope to add a few more in the next 18 to 24 hours but not pining my hopes on that.
I was envisioning all day S+ today, but no worries, they'll be other times
Just give me 4 inches later and I'll be okay!

Did you have anything left from Friday? Still full coverage here.
It mostly melted, mainly traces of a half inch or so with equal distribution of snow and grass

@sferic, this is a perfect example of the different world it often is from us in the north burbs to Syracuse itself. Check out the webcam...nary a flake in downtown.
WOW, and it's ripping here, rivaling what I've seen in Long Islands or Catskills Best
Thanks for that link, great camera view to use as a reference

I've gotta say... I love having you in Cicero. We've got all the major north suburbs of Syracuse covered. You in Cicero, CNY in Brewerton, Syrmax in Clay (north side), and me in Bville. It's great coverage!
Glad to be part of this group; have to say I have learned much so far from you guys!
Not much sleeping next 24 hours for me.
Understanding wife who agreed to the move up here too!

The winter of 93-94 was the most epic winter of my childhood in Lancaster. Snowstorm...icestorm...snowstorm..ice storm. You could walk on top of the deep pack without falling through at all.
Yup, an amazing winter season

Valentine's Day 07 is the one I was talking about. Yes, truly epic.
For me, I believe 1994 was the year on Long Island had an Ice storm I will never forget, a crystalline paradise that stayed in tack for a few days. Temperatures were suppose to rise above freezing but a NNE wind kept it all Freezing Rain

Usually kuchera maps are overdone but in this case probably not? Is kuchera ratios capped? Some could get 25:1+

For real. He needs to be banned. He's a detriment to the Philly forum and I feel bad they have to deal with him. He didn't deserve the time and energy Mike Gorse put into talking with him.
Marr, Can you name the exact forum topic or link, I too want to read and comment
I don't like people like that who are trolls and contribute nothing and just stir the pot, I had them in NYC/LI forum

If u can tomorrow...might be worth a short drive up i-81 to see real carnage...I'm thinking about it if it materializes. Wolfie will be out with the toofless peeps hand shoveling bc that's how they roll up there.
I just might "weather permitting" back in 1991 I did a day trip from Long Island to Parish and stopped by the old Carousel Mall.
Still have my VHS videos of that

Looing at the forecasts for my other family houses, Liberty NY, less than 1 inch, Lynbrook LI, nothing
Since I was 9 years old and got a personalized tour of the NWS at 30 Rock in NYC I was fascinated by LES, now to be able to experience it is an unbelievable rush and feeling
