    We haven't had measurable rain in over a week.

    Got up to 96 at the house with a max heat index of 104. Thats one of the highest heat indexes I have ever had here. We have been pretty dry the last 10 days but next weekend looks wet and cooler

    I loved a good back and forth with JBurns. He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.

    I have somehow managed to avoid the storms this week for the most part and only picked up .07 since Monday.

    Thought we would get lucky today but this evenings cell fringed us with .23. Much more just a few miles NW of me.

    We had 1.73 the last 24 hours. I will be mowing grass until the end of time

    Nothing today thankfully. The skeeters are the worst I have seen them here.

    We picked up .31 yesterday and now have over 5 for the month. Parts of McDowell had lots of trees down and power outages.

    I came a hair of getting struck by lightning today in Asheville. Crazy lightning storm just west of town
