  1. I'm socked in here now at 33.6. Close to freezing fog
  2. I'm interested in what west Asheville will get (where I work) I think an inch to 1.5 seems likely there
  3. Not like this. Canada has not been this cold all winter and probably not since 2014.
  4. Definitely different. The arctic air present here hasn't coincided with a southern slider since Jan 88.
  5. Thanks man it's been great to see. I'm feeling optimistic about the next few weeks now.
  6. This winter is already 100× better than last
  7. I agree, and often with a big pattern change like this you will get a storm. Track and precip too early to tell
  8. The HRRR performed better here than the 3K NAM with this event.
  9. Mini jackpot for you. I'm gonna call it 2.5 here.
  10. We had about 3 to 4 hours of snow and sleet last night, now freezing rain but the temp is rising and almost 32. Looks to only be a few hours of moisture left though. We picked up another inch of slop. Decent storm!
  11. Moderate snow, picked up another .5 or so. 31
  12. Anyone got any precip from round 2 yet?
  13. I was really hoping the entire foothills would get 2-4, maybe tonight will surprise
  14. Different world here just 45 mins to your west in McDowell. Hovering below 30 with an inch+ still on the ground
  15. Did anyone see the totals on the RGEM for PA? Almost 60 inches haha
  16. My temp went from 30.6 to 28.8 quickly. It must have cleared off some
  17. I know it's the HRRR but it has been Increasing snow here and towards MET and others.. Also it just dropped to 28.7 here.. must have cleared off
  18. Yea that's exactly why the National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings
  19. Lot of sour grapes tonight sheesh. I'm pleased with a couple inches of snow it's not like we are getting 2 feet (although places like Beech and Leconte may get over a foot with nwfs)
  20. Don't read the main thread, we're all just getting rain tonight
  21. I have lived here for the better part of 30 years and I can't recall snow coming down so quickly all at once. Usually it's a gradual increase as the column gets saturated off the Blue Ridge. Today, it went from nothing to low visibility in 20 minutes or less. Inch and a half of snow mostly fell in 90 minutes when the temperature was 38 to start off. Now 30.9. Something to remember
  22. I'm already satisfied with an inch and a half. It's 30.9 here. Anything else is gravy to me
