  1. Water levels are looking good for kayaking, fishing, etc.
  2. Biggest storm of the year here. Severe with strong winds and small hail. Still rocking and rolling too. We have had over 2 inches the past 36 hours now.
  3. After a few days of sprinkles we got .55 today. Closing in on 3 inches for the month. 12 miles west has over 10 inches for the month.
  4. The wonder of outflow boundaries
  5. For sure. Some places on the Blue Ridge near Mt Mitchell have had 7 to 8 inches the past week or so. Storms have been popping in the same locations over and over.
  6. We've kinda been the Goldilocks just right amount here. About 2 inches the past 7 or 8 days. Nothing too excessive but certainly not dry. .25 here, .75 there. Streams looking healthy again.
  7. There may not even be a storm at all at this point
  8. Looks like tropical trouble is on the way. The wave moving off Africa is shown getting close to Florida on the Euro day 10 and has been showing up for a few days.
  9. Yea its definitely been the haves vs the have nots. We had been the have nots until today. Wicked lightning storm and .75 rain. Still a little less than 2 inches for the month though.
  10. .55 today from a severe storm that just missed to the east. Some power outages and downed trees in the eastern part of the county from a downburst
  11. This is when that high elevation property really earns its value. Anything below 3k is pretty miserable usually from July 1 to September 1.
  12. Lucky you. It was about 90 here but not too humid and breezy. Only a sprinkle of rain and only .6 for the month so far.
  13. We have been missed mostly all week. Got one good shower Tuesday for about .4. It's getting a little dry here.
  14. .44 today and .58 for the month.
  15. The high was 43 last time I looked on Mt Mitchell. Really wasn't too far away from wintry precipitation..
  16. Nice reprieve but most of the area will be 90+ from June 3-5.
  17. South Toe was ripping today, would have been a good time to kayak. Wading was difficult
  18. Somewhat warmer here. Probably won't get out of the 60s a few days near the Blue Ridge. Euro hinting that the little swirl near Florida moves up this way and actually drops 3 to 4 inches of rain on the escarpment middle of this week.. Other models mostly have it near the piedmont and less defined.
  19. This week is looking more and more like last week here minus the heavy rain. I doubt we see the sun until Thursday..
  20. Robert really harped on drought coming this summer for many areas but it just isn't happening. We already had almost 3 months worth of rain the past week and probably another inch or two this week coming up. I'm also seeing signs of another tropical disturbance near Florida/Gulf of Mexico later in the week which could really create some issues
