  1. Second storm could be better and bigger than first around January 11 and 12.
  2. Usually when he's excited it doesn't snow so I'm cool with that
  3. The 12Z UK showed a big hit for western NC
  4. We don't need vodka cold but this is marginal cold even for favored locations. If you are south of 85 and 40 it's going to be tough to get any wintry IMO. Mountains are prime spot as per usual.
  5. You are all forgetting one big issue- The vodka cold is all in Siberia. Canada is well above average.
  6. Multiple chances for snow in the mountains the next week to 10 days according to Euro. Elevation could be key with the marginal cold air.
  7. One of the big issues I am seeing on the operational models is the lack of arctic air. Yes the blocking is there but the temps are marginal even for the mountains later in the runs. Unfortunately the other side of the globe has the majority of the cold air..
  8. 1.3 so far and 42 degrees. NE breeze at times making for a nasty new years day
  9. It's nasty out there today. 42 with a stiff NE breeze.. Wind chill around 34..
  10. Robert (WxSouth) is very good but idk if he is considered mainstream. I do like Chris Justus because I think he loves snow as much as we do
  11. Oh I agree, sometimes his wordage annoys me. He loves to make absolutes and it bites him in the a$% sometimes.
  12. I have to admit I gave been close to meltdowns a few times. I just need snow!
  13. Brad Panavich isn't sold yet- Blocking is great but it does t always bring cold, some time it’s a ridge. A pattern to watch for sure but it’s a 50/50 kinda of thing of where the trough and ridge set up.
  14. Hmmm.. Just one run but this system will be close to a heavy snow for the mountains and foothills
  15. One thing is for sure.. it doesn't look like we will be without a lot of systems with the hyper active Pacific. Someone is going to flood soon
  16. It's still generally 5 to 10 degrees above average on non rainy or wedge days. I guess that's an improvement over last year still but we are going to have to wait a while for any snow chances
  17. January is looking like it will be more above average than December unless the last 2 weeks are frigid
  18. Do I see an extended dry spell on the horizon after this weekend?? Some nice weather ahead, lots of 60s and 50s.
  19. It's almost 60 today after being close to 10 a few days ago. #winning
