  1. Really excited to share my lawn project. All new topsoil and seed. 100% organic with no fertilizer or pesticides. Still have a little more to go for it to be completely filled in but it looks nice so far. And my kitten loves it!
  2. Where has Pickles been? I would have thought he would have chased those big snowstorms we had up here the last week of March and the beginning of April.
  3. Got back from the dentist in Burlington about an hour ago and there was actually some clearing and blue skies visible. I guess I wasn't really expecting to see that much at all today.
  4. It is underrated for sure. It seems like every year I forget how many shades of green there can be until spring rolls around.
  5. I only ride rec paths and rail trails. For one thing, I’m lazy and the hills on rail trails usually max out at 2-3%. The main reason though is that I don’t want to deal with cars at all. The roads her have little to no shoulder. Even where they have attempted to create bike lanes, I don’t trust the drivers.
  6. That bridge is the Fisher Covered Bridge in Walcott. It’s right next to Rt. 15. I had originally thought about riding towards Walden but there is work going on to repair flood damage from last summer.
  7. It was a beautiful afternoon. I took it off and went for a bike ride on the LVRT. Hardwick to Wolcott and back. Finished with tacos in Hardwick when I was done.
  8. And we were somewhere between you both. It was sunny early and it was nice but we clouded up and had a few sprinkles and the temps dropped. I thought we were going to get rained on playing golf tonight but it cleared off nicely.
  9. I measured 110” of snow this year. Snow wasn’t the issue.
  10. I will singlehandedly make this thread relevant. Got up to 67° earlier when the sun was out. 64° now.
  11. May seems like a good month to fire up a warm season thread for us NNErs., Personally, I am looking forward to a hopefully drier summer than last year.
  12. Can you remind me how SDDs are calculated?
  13. Killington wants to get bigger. Killington is the East’s largest ski resort. A developer wants to expand on that in a big way.
  14. Better than our overcast 45° with a NW wind at 7 mph.
  15. Oh yeah, I forgot about Granville. Hazen’s Notch is pretty but it’s not “spectacular”. 242 past Jay is “notchy” feeling. There is a gulf down near Ludlow and Chester that gets pretty tight.
  16. It’s pretty unique in VT. What are the other gaps/notches? Hazel’s Notch, Appalachian Gap, Lincoln Gap, Middlebury Gap and Brandon Gap are the ones I can think of and none of them are quite the same. Oddly, the closest thing I can think of is a valley location, the Williamstown Gulf. The Second Branch of the White River cuts through the hills and Rt. 14 runs along side it. At its narrowest, there is barely enough room for the road and the river. The sides are really steep and there are cliffs. Rt.14 gets closed there once in awhile from ice/snow slides. The only picture I could find online is an old postcard that doesn’t really do it justice.
  17. High for the year so far 73.2° but it looks like rain isn’t far away.
  18. It has been. I’m about to head out and play my first holes of the season. Hopefully I don’t twist or tear something. Lol. It sucks getting old!
  19. I think we can all agree that our very own @powderfreakis the gold standard for what he instituted at Stowe. He should be giving seminars at ski industry conferences.
