  1. Nevermind LOL! It shifted just west at the last minute. The dome is in effect after all
  2. Got a nice t-storm coming in and the thunder is rolling. This makes up for summer when I hardly get any thunderstorms here
  3. Too bad you can't hunt in my neighborhood. We must have about one tree demon squirrel for every 100 square feet.
  4. A nice 12-hour rainfall with 0.5 to 1.0 is just what I need with the grass seed starting to come up. Some peeks of sun and 50
  5. I was just reading an "ask me anything" post on Reddit where a poster along with 12 others got stuck in one of those resorts on the north coast. They tried to get out their flight was cancelled and couldn't find any. They are hunkered in the resort's conference center with 300-400 people (Ocean Eden Bay, about 25 miles east of Montego Bay). It looks like it will be wild for Montego Bay later
  6. Especially with such a compact system. Look how small the hurricane force winds area is! If it managed to get just a little more west before it turns it would be hugely helpful for Jamaica
  7. That storm was a sicko. It entered Jamaica with 115 mph sustained and exited at 130. I couldn't believe what I was seeing on the old TWC tropical updates
  8. Since I overseeded I'll take the overnight drizzle. Even though is causes fumbles
  9. Pretty much! But hey we get to practice our base state of clouds, drizzle and wind that we'll be treated to for five months starting soon
  10. Sunny and 61, nice fall day. I'm going to enjoy before we go into three days of dreariness which produces about 0.15 of rainfall.
  11. I saw some rain staying in Calvert for a few days but I'm back in the desert now. I've got 2.04 for the month after a nearly rainless August and have only 22 for the year.
  12. Luckily no roosters! They used to have one and I swear that thing's reason for living was to try to murder me Sun coming out in Germantown! Better enjoy it
  13. I'll be in Calvert Wed thru Sat staying with my dad and looking after pets while rest of family is out west for a wedding....including my nephew's SEVENTEEN chickens. It's easy when it's dry, but they told me it's a huge mess when it rains. Uh, I'm thinking I'm in trouble? Time to look for some mudder boots. QPF forecast looks juicy!
  14. Well that was awkward down in Calvert yesterday LOL. We visited for a b-day dinner at a restaurant on the bay and I was saying all week "oh yeah we can sit outside - it's gonna be perfect weather." I'm thinking what the heck is this as we drive south thru a heavy shower around Dunkirk, then it proceeds to rain much of the afternoon. That was unexpected!
  15. Yeah that band has been great for the Frederick region. Even we got a decent amount overnight (now that summer is almost over it can rain here)
  16. Whoa the Norfolk/VA Beach area is taking a beating. FFW for up to 7 inches fallen with up to 3 more to come with winds gusting over 45. Radarscope there looks like a tropical storm made landfall
  17. Nothing for me to watch on radar anyway. Dry as a bone with peeks of sun. No significant rain since July 1-2
  18. Wow nice hit! That's more rain than I've had in seven weeks. Not a drop and I don't expect any rain here for a very long time yet - maybe by mid-Oct
  19. WPC saying 1 inch plus the next three days. I don't believe that for a second! I got all of 0.6 for the whole month of August and most of July's rain fell the first two days of the month. The crushing drought will continue
  20. Upcoming week looks great too, aside from no rain in sight. I got 0.6 total for August after a very dry July yikes My ideal would be continued BN temps thru Sept then AN temps in October
  21. It's hard not to be pessimistic when my last good winter was 2019, and last winter not working out despite lots of chances really sucked. Oh, and Pensacola, FL getting a great snowstorm when we didn't!
  22. I looked and was surprised to see June was just +0.6 and July +1.4 (DCA). Check out this stretch in 2012 end of June beginning of July. And weren't a lot of people out of power for days after that derecho in late June?
  23. Yeah this is getting ridiculous with day after day of dreary, but yet I have to run the damn sprinklers (it has not rained more than a couple tenths at a time here since July 2). I hope next week's forecasts of sunny and cool are right!
