  1. Towers going up in every direction.
  2. BML already hit 90F... think that’s 4 in a row.
  3. I know how CT can get, every other year I go down there it seems ridiculously humid with the sites 68-72F type dews. Just saw a bunch of low 60s inland sites and that actually seemed not all that bad by CT summer standards. Its not dry Chamber for sure, it’s that first stage of muggy on the news humidity graphics, lol. BOS at 68F like up here for dews, that’s humid.
  4. Dews aren’t impressive at all down there. It’s 85/62 at IJD... 85/68 up here at MVL (rain yesterday with fog all night jacked up our humidity). BDL is 88/62, ORH 84/61. Not screaming humid but I’m not down there.
  5. Woke up to that without A/C after 93F yesterday, ha. Outside was 62F. Very thankful for the nights lately. I might turn the A/C on a little in that 4-8pm range but then it’s usually cooler outside by 9pm where it seems silly to have it blasting air when the windows and deck doors could be open.
  6. It was impressive how heavy the rain was in those today. Just torrential huge rain drops. Was very happy to see almost a half inch in the gauge when I got home. Ground sucked that up real fast.
  7. BTV and BML pulled 94s today. PWM, IZG, MVL, CON with 93s. Just an absolute torching of NNE sites lately.
  8. High of 93F at MVL, wow. The second time this year and in the decade I’ve lived here I’ve never seen it go above 92F, and we’ve had a summer or two without even hitting 90F. Now down to 70/64, a pleasant evening.
  9. Picked up 0.42” of much needed water at home.
  10. Just got smoked by a storm on an evening hike with the dog.... we were around 2,900ft when it hit. It was literally like a black wall of water and it was classic downburst style with some high gusts in the middle of the rain shaft. I'd estimate 40-50mph gusts in about a 30-second pulse of wind inside what felt like a bucket of water getting poured out of the sky... to the point that you had to turn away from the wind as it was driving the massive rain drops into you sideways. Some pretty terrifyingly loud thunder too. Wasn't expecting that, but completely soaked through and pouring water out of my shoes. Amazing how fast everything can go from bone dry to a torrent of muddy water flowing down every little nook and cranny on a mountain
  11. I like it... the novelty of big NNE heat during the day but luckily the nights have been in the 40s and 50s. It’s fun to have high heat in the middle of the afternoon but then it’s 70F and cooling fast by 9pm. I think days of like 86/70 would be much worse and piss me off because it’s pedestrian daytime heat and then doesn’t cool off at night, ha.
  12. Well we do have an official heat wave up here at MVL, with at least 92F... last 4 days have been 88/45, 91/48, 91/53, 92/57. This is pretty wild when you couple it with the May heat. Other heat wave locations include: BTV, BML (another 93F today!), HIE, IZG (3 days of 93-94F), LEB, CAR, and I’m sure there’s more. Seems most of the NNE ASOS site’s hit the 3 day heatwave designation and might get another one or two to go.
  13. Yeah we’ve leveled off at 88-91F... it’s just bouncing around in that range on all the 5-min obs for the past 2 hours. We got to 90F early but seems like we won’t be going much higher...maybe sneak in a 92F or so? Definitely hotter by a couple degrees deeper into Maine as the 850s alluded to.
  14. Can see the storm cooled air in C.NH with a couple 82s... surrounded by upper 80s and low 90s on pretty much all sides. Some pretty hot observations for 17z.
  15. 91/59 here. This might be the hottest day yet. Maybe rival the 93F from May. HIE at 90/58. Another mountain valley scorcher.
  16. Already 88/61 at 12:15pm. Going for the true heatwave here shortly.
  17. Past hour and a half has taken us from 88F to 73F... it feels like a summer evening. 73/64... certainly no need for a hoodie. It is wild that it's 8:50pm and still light enough to take the dog for a walk.
  18. Ahhh so that's where the ground cloud cover came from. I was thinking it was smoke from a burn pile or something but seemed to be a bad idea to have a burn pile lately. Rain cooled air and fog/mist in the valley makes a lot more sense, ha.
  19. There was a very brief rain shaft coming out of this one over Waterbury... but otherwise just a lot of tall skinny development.
  20. That they did. It was like a Caribbean sky this evening.
  21. There are no better sunsets than Lake Champlain sunsets in the northeast. The west coast of New England. What a photo!
  22. 84/64... finally starting to come down from near 90F all afternoon.
  23. 90/63 A noticeable increase in humidity but it’s not bad yet... just going from real dry to standard summer. If that dew comes up another 5-7 it’ll be bad.
