  1. I’m rubbing yellow dandelions all over my body for sun protection. Go big or go home.
  2. Looks like the METAR for Mount Washington has officially at least tied their hottest May temp recorded. Records left and right.
  3. 1:05pm came in with 80F on Mansfield. That might've just done it for the hottest May reading ever. I think the warmest temp ever is like 84F or there about.
  4. 91F here at MVL 90F BTV 89F MPV
  5. I noticed that, there's a lot more convective looking clouds firing up over the highest terrain today. Looks like a real gully washer down around or NE of Killington/Ludlow vicinity. Thing just isn't moving.
  6. Congrats on experiencing some all-time May heat for these parts, ha. The Mount Washington temperature profile is about as hot as I've ever seen, even for July/August. Nearing 80F at 4,000ft (same with over here on Mt Mansfield) and upper 80s from 2,300ft and below. We've gone entire summer's without hitting 90F at the valley sites.
  7. Ahhh big difference there. I think they might get the 66F for May but toss that 72F max then. You were right, 72F is the highest temperature ever recorded up there in any month. Still, that's a really hot day for 6,200ft.
  8. Wonder if they got their highest for any month of the year then? I can't figure out the difference though between the "Current Summit Conditions" page on MountWashington.org and this: https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/getobext.php?table=1&banner=off&sid=kmwn They have two very different data sets for today. Here's the WMN main weather page: https://xmountwashington.appspot.com/csc.html?data=more
  9. MWN record for May is 66F.... and the current summit conditions temperature is higher than that right now. Looks like a new all-time May temp for the rockpile?
  10. Holy shit at Mount Washington. Today's record high is 63F back in 1978.... they have already hit 72.2F today? I gotta find the May record. Wonder if they hit it. Back down to 68F right now but look at this temp profile, this is insane to see upper 80s at these elevations:
  11. Is that what it is? Causing that gradient near RT 2 and S.NH? Impressive that the southerly flow can sort of overwhelm all of SNE with that marine air. It's easily noticeable in CT though in that lowest 3,000ft of the atmosphere.
  12. Yeah, man, look at these 925mb temp differences from you to the North Country! Yesterday was my first swim in the river, god that snow melt still feels cold even at 90F outside, ha. The whole time though, CT and most of SNE doesn't exceed 20C at 925mb. Pretty neat pattern. Today: Tomorrow... Even Friday is a sneaky torch in NW Maine... hottest spot in what is normally the climo coolest in New England.
  13. BTV with a min of 72F this morning setting a new month of May record for highest min. Old record was 70F in 1911, 2015, 2017. Today they are forecasting May record max temps at BTV, 1V4, and a tie at MPV.
  14. Ha, hotter than that at the summits up here. I think picnic tables are gonna destroy their all-time May temps at this pace. What an impressive air mass. This sort of came out of no where for 3 days.
  15. We go snowy, heat wave, frost all in the span of like 3 weeks?
  16. BML is already 90/63. SLK at 88F too. One impressive torch.
  17. 88/66 at 11:15am. This is fukkin wild. Multiple snow events in the backyard this month along with some of the hottest May temps on record.
  18. Yeah I’ll use ours occasionally from like 4-8pm... often by late in the evening the outdoor temps match the AC temps so we just end up opening the windows and slider doors after running the AC for the last several hours, ha. I haven’t noticed any of this vast accumulations of pollen though that SNE seems to have. Some make it sound like you should be shoveling it out of your bedroom in the morning if you accidentally leave a window open.
  19. Yeah cooled off nicely. Already 21F lower than a few hours ago. 68F and windows and doors open. Screen sliders in the living room, dining room and bedroom cool it off real fast. Its not a badge of honor but it’s useless to use the AC when inside temps dip into the 60s anyway.
  20. Toasty up high and the fast melt continues with these record/near record max temps for the month of May. Talk about whiplash.... the first two weeks of May were one of the coldest starts to the month on record, with multiple snow events even down to the NNE valleys. Now we are seeing some of the warmest temps the month of May can produce in these parts. Bi-polar weather.
  21. Mansfield's 79F max temp ties the warmest May temperature there as well. Though the other one occurred almost two weeks earlier in the month on May 14, 1961. The minimum temperature of 57F in the last 24 hours is the same as the normal high temperature for the date. BTV's 92F just missed their warmest May temperature on record by one degree as the May record is 93F, set just a couple years ago in 2017. Tomorrow is supposed to be a degree or so warmer, wonder if these spots can set their May records that were tied today.
  22. Yeah it’s been a crazy week. Like I posted yesterday, the station at 4,000ft up here on Mount Mansfield averaged almost a degree higher in temperature than ORH in the last 7 days, three thousand feet lower and 150 (?) miles further south.
  23. Yeah we full torch in NNE. Especially the further NW you go it seems. Been like 8 days of that pattern of hotter the further NW you go.
  24. Ah ok, but you don’t know if it’s 89F or 90F till the 6-hrly right?
  25. How do you get the 6-hr maxes before 00z? MVL has been rotting at 88F for 3 hours but I have to imagine it’s hit 90F at some point within that time.
