  1. BV really isn't that far from Montpelier in terms of overall commute times... would be the highest snow spot by far within easy driving distance. The biggest downside would be that access road that gains 2,000 vertical feet is no joke for a vehicle over and over again, ha.
  2. I’ve heard from several folks that’s an absolutely awesome park to watch AAA baseball. On par with some MLB parks apparently. Being brand new probably doesn’t hurt either.
  3. Just started pouring. Going to get more humid after this.
  4. Elon Musk sending the crypto CumRocket up 400% today within 10 minutes of this tweet. Apparently yesterday he tweeted “Canada USA Mexico” which was highly confusing. But I guess the initials of those countries spell it out. This guy loves playing with this stuff. He tweets and some people make a lot of money. What a world to live in.
  5. Yeah I saw that. Most guidance has something dropping through NVT to SW ME. Might stay north then east of me. Like EEK to GYX line.
  6. 82/59 at MVL. Its warm. Feels like summer.
  7. Yeah it feels hot. All local stations under 1200ft here are 79-83F (MVL 82), and 1200-1700ft is 77-79F. I’ve got a few things to take care of at the ski area and got same 78F at 1500ft. Town is going to bake today... and next 3 days though.
  8. Further west. JSpin on the Waterbury/Bolton line is probably the max point of upslope where all events (blocked and unblocked flow) sort of overlap. Like mreaves said, you can get streamers to squeeze down the Winooski River gap (climo favored streamer area I think due to the gap in the Spine) and follow the interstate... but upslope will have a gradient in there for sure. RT 100 is a good barometer for upslope reach. But on the flip side Mreaves and that area does CAD a bit better in mix events and stays frozen longer... and gets hit harder in coastal storms that have liked to stay SE in many recent winters. It’s a healthy winter climate.
  9. The Rec Path thing is funny because while only 6 miles long in Stowe, the bears all last summer used that thing as their highway to connect all the businesses. They figured out what the humans did... build a non-motorized pathway that connects all the restaurants in town and along Mountain Road. I live on the Rec Path and that’s why we had them literally daily crossing through our yard. People would bike next to them, like they were large stray dogs just wandering around. Must’ve been amazing to them that this pathway went to all their favorite eating spots... like humans driving I95 and getting off at different exits along the way. “Well tonight I’m going to start at Piecasso for some pizza crust in their dumpster. Then get back on the path and maybe we’ll see if there are any tacos for desert at Tres Amigos. But wait, did Sushi Yoshi just dump the leftover fish skin?! Yeah that’ll taste good.”
  10. Montpelier itself is like 600-700ft elevation I think but MPV airport is over 1,100ft. That’s a good solid snowfall area. Plenty of winter but your mileage will vary depending on elevation. If you live at 650ft on the Winooski River or up at 1300ft outside Montpelier will have a decent impact on snowfall. Vermont snowfall seems highly nuanced on the whole so it’s hard to say. Live up near Cabot and commute to Montpelier, those Cabot stations get very healthy snowfall on Cocorahs.
  11. Yeah I saw it hit a high of 66F water temp before the lake turned over. 66F in May is bath water for that lake, but back into the 40s/50s it went. Cool stuff.
  12. Nice documentation of the event dude.
  13. That's awesome. Love bear encounters, they really are docile creatures on the whole. Or maybe nonchalant is a better word? Black bears notice you but aren't confrontational in the least.
  14. Devers just absolutely smoked that 3-run homer... that was “a beautiful thing.” Love Sox vs Yanks. Summer weather coming in and baseball. ‘Merica.
  15. Git ‘er done! Ha. I’m waiting for the Sox and Yankee game to start.
  16. I thought radar might be Hail contaminated but maybe not?
  17. Friday evening walk after work. What a great day.
  18. Radar estimates look like you guys in Tolland, adjacent I84 and just south were jacked. Good stuff. Going to pump DIT’s backyard dews in this upcoming heat given the rainforest there.
  19. A friend from the Hilton Hotel who’s the director of engineering/maintenance there shared these... I’m not sure I’ve seen a true fog bank like this off Champlain. Cold lake water.
  20. Yup, that’s how I think of it. You are more prone to squeezing those extra few degrees out on either side (night and afternoon)... this the high diurnal ranges in those locations. Mid-slope elevations have a lower diurnal range in clear and non-advection regimes, less chill at night and more moderate afternoons. Often in NNE the radiator ASOS sites are also the ones that get hot/dry in the afternoon... BML, HIE, MVL, SLK even at almost 1700ft. Air moving down the mountain slopes into the valley, compressional warming and drying. Get that extra 2-3F while losing some dew point...those sites get that 90/57 while others are 86/62 type deal. SLK is probably the best example as it’s what like 1665ft? That elevation as a hilltop in New England might hit like 83-85F in a very hot period when valleys are ripping off 90s. Like 1700ft in SVT plateau, not very hot. But Lake Placid and SLK in that 1600-1800ft range is valley bottom surrounded by 4,000-5,000ft terrain all around. You’ll see SLK get 87-90F in hot patterns... probably 3-5F hotter than if that elevation is a hilltop. Then there are larger valley spots like BTV, ALB, MSS, etc that don’t radiate AND absolutely torch, ha. BTV probably doesn’t drop below 70F for 24-48 hours at some point early next week. King of 70F mins.
  21. The radiators should hit it, along with BTV/CON/LEW. Probably avoid it at 1500ft and above?
  22. Yeah this is looking like a pretty legit period of heat for the North Country. Hadley Cell is devouring us all.
  23. Is that some sort of antenna or are you just excited to see me?
  24. No there’s a few scattered about. The terrain park jumps will be all thats left aim next couple days. BTV going hot: “Otherwise a largely dry and increasingly warm/hot forecast will be maintained with this package with highs on Sunday in the upper 80s to lower 90s, then upper 80s to mid 90s early next week.“
