  1. I can't believe the QPF, there's no way IMO? I'll eat a hat if we get near another half inch of QPF after midnight. The HRRR and NAM keep the party going.
  2. Wife and I just went to Sushi Yoshi here in town. Coming out and walking the Rec Path home in a snowstorm was awesome. This is what winter is all about. Good food, good drink, a quiet walk through the field and woods with evergreens and hardwoods alike bending under the high QPF snow. We don't get a lot of heavy wet caking snows here but this one is about as picturesque as it gets even if it's only 7" or so far.
  3. It's wild how slow it's moving. Going to be some big totals central/southern VT to NH and ME.
  4. Skiing was fun today. Quiet turns finally.
  5. I love Tim, ski with him, but lol I give him crap for going ballz in every time. Adding another one to the list to rib him over.
  6. Yeah you have a sneaky good big storm zone. Also get the upslope and lake streamers that fire up into Bennington County from the west. A good precip zone on the whole, that’s a “wet” area.
  7. 6” at home. Winter wonderland. Hopefully grab another few overnight. Models had 10” for MVL on average, might make it. Lotta water in this.
  8. Models have another healthy run overnight. There was definitely a lull modeled this afternoon after the initial push. It has to be wrong but the 12km NAM had 1-1.5” more QPF after 2pm/18z today on the 18z run . The 3km was a bit more believable but that’s still good water after 2pm today.
  9. Closing in around 5" at 1,500ft. Steady 1"/hr since like 7-8am.
  10. The blowing can often be a sign of good mixing on the backside of terrain too.
  11. Where’s East Hartland, CT? Got some family there saying very snowy day.
  12. 30F and Heavies. 13. It has started dumping lately. We've had a quick 2" at Mansfield in pretty much the past 2 hours.
  14. Color me a little skeptical of that 18-24" amounts up high around here. But who knows. It's a pasty snow at 1,500ft, every little branch and twig white.
  15. Radar seems a bit more fragmented than I was expected. How did QPF amounts do in the Catskills/Berks/SVT last night?
  16. Flurries starting up here. 29F at 1,500ft at the office. It was 33F at home.
  17. Ha, yeah stuff breaks. Mechanical parts in highly unforgiving environments and ski areas don’t just stock 100% replacement parts on their shelves. Regarding the differences in skier opinions, a friend passed this along that was funny. I’ve been enjoying the Lookout Double though, going old school and it’s kept the majority of people away. Some skiers seem insulted they can’t get a high speed ride up to literally the same open terrain, ha. Not ideal to be waiting on parts but at least there’s a lift that still goes there.
  18. It’s pretty close with 4” at DDH right near the NY/VT border, with the full hole a few miles west of there. There’s actually sleet in that model for DDH on the downslope.
  19. 18z Canadian HRRR at 48 hours… that’s just a wild boundary between 20” and nothing in the Berkshires. Then also Hudson Valley to Catskills.
