  1. Yeah same here. Just got home, still covered but now with some grass blades poking through a wet inch. Trees still got snow on them. I’ll take it for the date.
  2. First real winter like day. Leaving the office and trees are glistening in a light glaze, 2” of crusty snow and looks like the hotel pavers were turned on in the village, ha. 31F.
  3. I thought they wouldn’t have but still running top to bottom.
  4. 0.75sm -SN. Out with the dog for her morning business. 29F
  5. Miss all the trees at high speed powder explosions in the woods, then get crutches from slipping and falling under the truck while loading the skis. Sounds like a day of skiing. Anyway, nice to see a WAA up. Think we see 1” then IP/ZR and drizzle in PM.
  6. Until you’ve walked down a set of steep stairs in ski boots, it’s hard to know lol. Like all the memes that say the most dangerous thing you did at a ski resort was walk downstairs to the basement bathrooms in a base lodge .
  7. Ha, personal injury lawyers salivating at slip and falls. No one is worried about it until they do it. I won’t lie, I haven’t hurt myself skiing 100+ days a year except back when I was 10 years old… I hit a tree and broke my wrist… but I have dislocated my knee walking around Stowe in ski boots and slipping. A surprising amount of injuries come from having thousands of people walking around on snow/ice every day. That’s the irony of it.
  8. Yeah there’s been an upslope signal bouncing around out there day 5-8 off and on recently. GFS likes it. Pavers aren’t on yet but probably go on the 17th if the place opens. In a world run by lawyers, god forbid someone slips and falls somewhere they are visiting almost solely for the winter weather. Gotta love the irony.
  9. It is legit cold today. Sitting 15F up top and 28F here at the office at 1,500ft as of 12:30pm. Snow guns blasting outside here in the base area.
  10. Ha. Looks like MPV nearby is showing 7 mile vis -SN/flurries… so some snow showers in the vicinity there at least.
  11. Thursday morning looks at least a bit less boring than every other day lately for CNE/NNE. First widespread light wintery mix event. D-2” snow followed by light icing to rain showers?
  12. At work today we hit 51F and now fallen back into the 30s. 0.58” rain, it was miserable to be honest to even walk outside in wind-driven rain for several hours.
  13. Standing on hind legs, licking the bird feeder.
  14. That’s where I’m at. We lose some wiggle room but gain some precipitable water and have higher chances of singular large or impactful winter events. Saw BTV posted this today. Growing season getting longer, maybe that’s why Joe Bastardi notices fatter deer… more growing, more food.
  15. I feel like it’s hard to call for a rat any time climo is such that one big event or a two week run of snows can remove a location from rat status. To what Tip said, snowfall seems to be more in singular large events recently rather than a sustained month(s) of consistent snows and winter.
  16. Skiing and riding is popular these days. Especially if you are the only game in town. Numerous people out earning turns at Stowe after snowmaking allowed for nearly 2,000 vertical feet of turns if you are ok with some fast grass in places. Yesterday it was looking surprisingly good for the top 1,000 verts from the quad unload down to the top of the six pack. The lower 1k feet of elevation from 2600-1500ft saw about half the runtime and was more marginal.
  17. Today was pretty dreary. Just some occasional sprinkles and misery mist but so dark all day long. Welcome to November.
  18. Yeah it was also thick clouds and -RN this morning. So we weren’t able to drop at all last night. Looks like CON reported CLR until this morning and 40F. It’s all about radiating ability this time of year.
  19. It’s funny because the ski area is largely E/NE aspect of Mansfield and it’s 100% the cold side. Like winter, felt mid-20s. But you can’t see really any other snow on neighboring hills. Spruce Peak across the road bare to summit. I popped out up top and into the sunshine and SW wind and it felt mild, like the temp went from 25F on the upper east slope to 35-40F out on the SW aspect. Its easy to see why in the 1930s to 1950s they put the ski trails where they are lol. Like walk around the mountain and they had to be like, why does that area appear much more wintry? There’s always snow here, while not on that side over there.
  20. Holding onto winter for Torch Tiger this afternoon.
