  1. If I stare at it long enough, I can convince myself the purple line just makes it to Garrett County.
  2. If that look persists into mid-October, it could easily lead to early flakes for the mountains. The later the month goes with that look, it opens the door for the far NW exurbs too (your area, etc).
  3. BWI: 10/26 IAD: 10/27 DCA: 11/9 RIC: 11/9 TB: 86
  4. I’m not even sure I could round up to an inch last winter.
  5. Not saying we'll have a blockbuster winter but I put no faith in these seasonal forecasts.
  6. Yeah, I think so. Clippers are fun sneaky events.
  7. It seems like we’re due for a fluke event this winter (this is 100% unscientific but probably more accurate than those lame seasonal models/weeklies).
  8. I thought this area did quite well in the January '96 blizzard? Or do I have the wrong storm?
  9. Winter automatically would get a B at least.
  10. The real way it’ll go down is we’ll get a -NAO in early November to give us the hope of a front loaded winter. Dec 1 flips to a +NAO and holds until March.
  11. I’ll go 5-15” at home and 60-80” in McHenry. Both below average.
  12. Multiple warnings in western MD (too bad I'm home in Arlington....) and WV.
  13. Here's one of the cams in Chicago to watch as the line approaches: https://www.earthcam.com/usa/illinois/chicago/field/?cam=fieldmuseum
  14. For this area, I thought the storm tonight was a good one. Gusty winds, lots of T&L, torrential rain. Just had the western tail of a storm that passed through Alexandria too.
  15. That cell over Manassas is expanding to the SE...might clip Arlington/Alexandria.
  16. Severe thunderstorm watch just issued. Get ready for a few drops of rain!
  17. That’s just terrible what’s going on down in MS. I hope everyone is safe. I’m sure an unpopular opinion here but I’d prefer we see 0 tornadoes.
  18. Had an impressive line of severe storms hit around 2a here. Lots of T&L, torrential rain, gusty winds, and hail.
  19. Can we start a thread for this? It'd be helpful to separate this threat from the LR discussion.
  20. The only thing I’m tracking is next weekend’s potential storm. I’ve seen enough patterns D10-D15 change on a dime on the ensembles, both for better and for worse to get myself invested in hoping for an amazing pattern. January looked dreadful a few days ago and now we are hopefully looking at a flip but I still don’t put much faith in D10+ looks. I mean I’m rooting for a KU pattern just as much as the next weenie but I’m keeping my expectations in check.
