  1. Last year had a cold November (-AO if i remember correctly) followed by...well we know what followed that. Not saying we should expect it to be 100% opposite of last year — but what happens in November doesn’t set the stage for the rest of the winter is my point.
  2. GFS has upslope snow showers for Garrett County & Canaan Sunday night into Monday. It’d be the first flakes of the season.
  3. front loaded especially if it means a white Christmas. Delayed usually means denied around here
  4. I still think we’ll ‘luck’ into a storm this year even if the indices say we’re fooked...its hard to have two back to back abysmal winters.
  5. 0.4” on the day. Temp up to 37 (should continue to rise overnight).
  6. That was the first year I started tracking storms on models and I remember thinking “geesh, what’s so hard about this...we keep getting perfect storm setups”. Ahhh - then reality set up in subsequent winters...
  7. Cold powder with no mixing worries along/east of 95 with any storm in winter is a blessing, especially pre-Christmas.
  8. A 6a high of 40 and currently down to 36 with a stiff ESE wind. 0.14” of rain on the day. If only it was a few degrees cooler.
  9. 3a high of 62 then winds shifted out of the NW and temps dropped - currently 47 with low clouds/fog and a few showers. Great day to make a stew.
  10. It’s a bit ironic that trick or treating is cancelled on the one day people actually wear masks/costumes covering their face. Ob: sunny and warm
  11. This winter already beats last winter. I’m not even sure we got a storm within 10 days on a model.
  12. We’d be better off shutting down this thread and the MR/LR thread. Clearly it’ll be 52 and rainy from D through March.
  13. Looking forward to the warm temps this week...I’d never turn down upper 70s and sun in October.
  14. Yeah, 33 has been the coldest low so far. Forecast is upper 20s to low 30s in the county tonight. multiple frosts but first widespread freeze tonight (freeze warning for Cumberland/west).
  15. 39/33. On the way to the first freeze.
  16. Freeze watch posted for the Mountains and 81 corridor in VA.
  17. Looks like I'll be spending Halloween in Deep Creek. A foot of snow and a bag of Reese's Cups sounds great.
  18. I think @CAPE will stress about his rain soaked mosquito bog based on the models.
  19. I think you missed the point of my post.
  20. Tracking winter used to be way more fun before these long range seasonal models came around.
  21. 0.2” total. GFS did the best while the Euro and especially the NAM twins were way too wet.
  22. 0.15” here. I love sitting on the porch listening to the light rain fall.
  23. Euro has caved to the GFS out here. Now showing only about 0.3”. We’ve just had some drizzle/light rain here amounting to a big fat 0.01”.
  24. GFS is on an island of its own out here. Barely 0.3” with the others all showing 1-2”+. Maybe an early preview of model wars for our blockbuster winter.
