  1. I was stuck at 32 all night. Front pushed through just after 6am. I’m down to 16 degrees with light snow. My anemometer is frozen so I’m not registering wind gusts right now. Hoping I don’t have a tree fall on the house with all this wind.
  2. I definitely think the RGEM was overdone with its temperatures. Doesn’t seem like you will rise much overnight.
  3. Just hit 32. Should continue to rise over the next few hours to the mid 30s and then start crashing overnight. I’m looking forward to tomorrow...upslope snow showers, cold temps, wind, and bitter wind chills.
  4. Nice picture. 31 and freezing rain. 0.1” accretion so far. Seems like temps will rise til about 3a to 35 or so and fall sharply after that.
  5. 30 and FRZRA. Should flip to plain rain for a few hours tonight before the hammer drops.
  6. Just flipped to 75% sleet/25% snow here. 29 degrees. Glad to see some cashing in back home too.
  7. Light snow just started. Fluffy Dendrites making it very picturesque on the hike.
  8. 27 degrees and waiting for the snow/sleet/freezing rain. Wind chills look brutal tomorrow.
  9. Did you forget last weekend? Or the snow on snow this week?
  10. A few pictures I took when we got to the house. Don’t mind the Scottie peeing...
  11. Yep totally agree on the valley point which is why areas like Frostburg and Cumberland will see a significant amount of ice as they are wedged between the BR and the Allegany front.
  12. This is the kind of setup where Garrett does better than Tucker and it’s mostly due to the fact that Garrett is more north. Go just across Garrett into the next county in PA and it’s the same story there...they’ll get 6-10” vs Garrett 3-6”...latitude helps with this setup.
  13. NWS Pitt just upgraded to a warning for Garrett and an advisory for Canaan. Here is the warning for Garrett: O.UPG.KPBZ.WS.A.0002.190119T1200Z-190120T1800Z/ /O.NEW.KPBZ.WS.W.0002.190119T1800Z-190120T1800Z/ /O.CON.KPBZ.WW.Y.0005.000000T0000Z-190118T1900Z/ Garrett- Including the cities of Mountain Lake Park, Oakland MD, and Grantsville 110 PM EST Fri Jan 18 2019 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON... ...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM SATURDAY TO 1 PM EST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Patchy freezing drizzle will wane this afternoon. Heavy mixed precipitation is expected Saturday and Sunday. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of one-tenth to two-tenths of an inch expected. * WHERE...Garrett County Maryland. * WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, from 1 PM Saturday to 1 PM EST Sunday. For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 2 PM this afternoon. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions and difficult travel conditions.
  14. 2-4”/3-5” with more in the eastern part of the county near the border with Allegany. Sleet/ice would be bigger story verbatim.
  15. Euro is a significant event for the mountains of western MD. Cumberland gets over 6” of snow. Garrett basically stays below freezing the whole event except for an hour or two after midnight as temps really crash.
  16. You ninja’d me on this. What a look on the GEFS...take a look at 384. Low heights in the 50/50 region and a potent wave over LA/MS.
  17. NWS Pitt going with 4-12” for Garrett County (from south to north), 4-6” for Canaan, and 0.1-0.15” ice accretion (as of their last update which was 3am today).
  18. I should have added, I'm not tracking this for Arlington...I'm tracking for McHenry/Garrett County as I'll be at my house there this weekend. I agree that the cities will see rain from this and the story will be the drop in temperatures. Euro is warmer than the NAM but is still colder than RGEM by a considerable amount.
  19. 11/15 1.9” 1/12-1/13 9.8” 1/17-1/18 1.2” total 12.9”. Ahead of climo at this point in the season.
