  1. Yeah tonight won’t win awards for best defensive plays of the season. Another + is the Caps PP is a complete 180 tonight...even this one where they didn’t score, they had multiple good looks.
  2. Best their offense has looked in a long time. Much better stick handling and energy too. And they’re shooting the puck!
  3. Anytime I can exceed climo, I consider it a good winter in DC. Great winter is another story obviously. I find it hard to believe I don’t exceed climo considering I’m only 6” from that.
  4. yep, totally. Interesting enough the 30th and 5th are anniversaries of 2010 storms.
  5. lol, didn't the Penguins spend a good amount of the season in the basement of the Eastern Conference? Welcome to hockey, where all teams go through highs and lows. Caps went through a similar low this time last season and lost to the Pens in the playoffs well, we know what happened the rest of the season.
  6. Interested to see the individual members but a weak signal for the 30th on the MSLP charts.
  7. Huh? It was a disaster I don't know WTF I was looking at on my phone but now that I'm on my computer, I don't see the same thing. I wouldn't call it a disaster but its not a weenie run. 30th looked fine to me.
  8. Wow, 18z GFS is a pretty weenie run. Multiple shots at frozen. eta: I need to get my eyesight checked.
  9. Totally agree. Loop the MSLP and you can see it faintly there but stronger as it heads north up the coast Are we talking storm threats here or the other thread though? I like splitting the threads...this one for teleconnections, LR pattern, weeklies, etc and the other for specific threats on the models.
  10. Yeah, until the CCB in the afternoon, I don't recall much of any wind. I didn't realize you only got 15" from that...you're doing a bad job reminding us everyday like some here seem to do.
  11. I was on the edge in snowtv for about 4-6 hours in the morning while just west of here kept getting pounded. but thankfully the CCB came through in the afternoon with legit blizzard conditions. If not for the CCB, it would have been a 16" storm here. Nothing to sneeze at but wouldn't be an historic storm by any means.
  12. Light snow breaking out at H240 of the Euro with a low in the SE. Hopefully the EPS bites too.
  13. leesburg04 needs a met tag
  14. Hit -3 in McHenry...2nd below 0 zero in a row.
  15. The only thing less useful than the weeklies are snowfall maps from the weeklies. I wouldn’t waste time focusing on it IMO.
  16. Definitely doesn’t do it justice! Down to 2 degrees. Come on below 0!
  17. Down to 4 degrees. Shot of the moon off the lake at Honi Honi
  18. A few photos of hiking in the woods behind the house. 12 degrees, SN, and deep winter.
  19. On average 6-7” with a layer of sleet/ice on top. Still snowing with about 1” of fresh snow since we flipped from freezing rain overnight.
  20. I’m going skiing later today and another hike...I’ll get some better pictures to post.
  21. I was stuck at 32 all night. Front pushed through just after 6am. I’m down to 16 degrees with light snow. My anemometer is frozen so I’m not registering wind gusts right now. Hoping I don’t have a tree fall on the house with all this wind.
  22. I definitely think the RGEM was overdone with its temperatures. Doesn’t seem like you will rise much overnight.
