  1. The NW trend that started last night is probably not done with 4 days out, still lots of time.
  2. We hope this happens to get the precipitation shield a little more north and west.
  3. The thing is we're told that there is never enough cold air to get snow then when we do get cold for snow there is the problem of suppression, mercy we can't win for losing. I guess our only hope is the old NW Trend of which we can't give up on yet.
  4. Trends have gone against us before just to trend back to our favor. GSP has had to change they're tune before.
  5. Hey fellas we're still 5/6 days out. There is going to be a lot of back and forth on these models.
  6. Not giving up yet, we've seen this before, the old NW Trend doesn't show up till a couple of days before the storm. I have seen the models come NW the last day.
  7. I still believe in the NW Trend, it will come in due time.
  8. Just hoping the excess cold doesn't push the storm to Cancun. Lord we have to double thread two needles around here. Unreal.
  9. Hey history is the NW Trend, it's only normal for the storm to want to come north northeast. I guess time will tell but storms want to amp up and gain latitude. I think the models will flip flop for a day or two.
  10. Yep here's hoping for the real cold to back off just enough to allow the moisture up into the area.
  11. Guys I'm afraid with such a cold push that all the moisture will be shoved to the Carribean and we will be left with super cold and dry. We've seen this before, it warms up and rains. We finally get cold but it's so cold it keeps the moisture well to our south. We can't win for loosing. Think I rather have 70 and sunny if we can't get winter precipitation. Threading the needle isn't the word for what we always face.
  12. Hey I'll take a nice 4-6 inch storm at this rate, we're still young into the winter season. This storm around here couldn't get it's act together
  13. Happy to see some snow, will have to admit a little disappointed , only received around an inch at my house in Candler NC. I was hoping for the low end of 3-4 inches but while looking at the snow maps leading up to the storm I could tell this wasn't the classic Miller A we here in the mountains are use to. Seems like the precipitation could not overcome the dry air around West Asheville area but I was noticing the heaviest moisture stayed to the south in Georgia of which I'm glad for those folks. We may get ours yet, its' young into the winter.
  14. Can't quite believe that with this type Miller A that Asheville is only showing 2.5 inches. Coming in from the southwest is usually our best set-up,
  15. Chris Justice Greenville Met thinks WNC still sees 4-8 with mostly heavy snow with little or no mixing.
  16. When will NWS extend the WSW east, would have thought all wnc would be in the watch area.
  17. Yep just last week the cold wasn't an issue but now the cold seems to have backed off just enough to have mixing issues for the 10, 11, 12 storm
  18. I just wish for once that one of these possibilities of a snowstorm would verify for us. With all the cold air around we're going to miss a great chance at a storm. Threading a needle isn't the phrase, it's worse than that. Maybe the models will come around for us folks. With all the deep cold air I'm surprised that any moisture that comes in isn't all snow.
  19. I hope Buncombe County will see some flakes flying tomorrow. Just a crappy winter.
  20. I'll take a March surprise but otherwise come on warm and dry.
