Shower chances increase Sunday night through early Tuesday but most days except Monday this week should feature plenty of sunshine. The facts are not doubtful...the data is clear as stated above....can't change weather data after the fact!

HI CC Actually the Western Chester County data have only failed to reach the 50's in July just twice (2012/2020) in recorded history with data for 130 years back to 1894 Certainly no UHI contamination or urban heating blowing out this way.....as we finished July as the 55th Coldest. While low temps were the 11th warmest the high temperatures averaged as the 12th chilliest on record. Both KMQS Airport and EN finished just slightly above normal for the month.

We finished July at just slightly above normal temperature wise at both KMQS Coatesville Airport (+0.4) and at East Nantmeal (+0.3). Beautiful weather continues the next couple of days to start August with high temps both days remaining in the 70's. We stay cool on Thursday but rain chances increase by Thursday late day. Early peek at the weekend looks nice with continued temps running slightly below levels for early August in Chester County, Records for Today: High 98 (2002) / Low 47 (1895) / Rain 1.57" (1973)

However, at all locations the summer months of June and July so far are near the top of the chilliest ones on record. This includes KMQS with their 3rd coldest June/July since records started in 2008 and East Nantmeal/Coatesville with about the 18th coldest June/July on record since 1894!!

Now, my location here in East Nantmeal has failed to actually surpass the 90 degree mark for more than 2 years! The last time I recorded a over 90 degree temperature was way back on June 30, 2021. That said I do have a poorly sited roof thermometer that has hit the 90 degree mark 2 times this year....but that roof top location inflates the readings. Correct placement of a thermometer is 4.5 to 6 feet above the ground and in a grassy location. It looks like showers tomorrow night will end this brief heat spell with yet another below normal stretch of weather days ahead starting Sunday through much of the upcoming week. Yesterday was our 10th straight below normal day. That changes today as a very brief potential heat wave impacts the area today through Saturday. The peak heat will be tomorrow PM when most spots in the county should touch the mid 90's.
