Nice!! I do remember you in the Hayfield area of Alexandria if my memory is correct. Yes I am in Currituck county. On the mainland side right up against the sound. We did great last year with an 8 inch and a 13 or 14 inch storm after that. Been down here since 2018. We do okay on Southern sliders but anything with any juice to it flips very quickly here. We have to count on the front end thump and maybe a fluffy inch or two on the back end after the rain washes a lot of it away. That looks like the scenario here even though we are way out in time. Good to see you in here!!

Great run for all. Rather see it flatter and more south than amped. Much broader precip field extending well to the Southwest into texas. I'm in Currituck North Carolina so it's either rain or snow for me. We don't do ice over here.

Yes the true cold is still coming through from Maryland into Northern virginia. Otherwise it's just marginal. It might take a little bit of time.

Awesome. We lost 9° in about 2 minutes about 20 minutes ago. It was 50° in my backyard. A few minutes later it was down to 41. North winds change everything. A nice slug of moisture is building to the southwest. Might be a fun morning especially for you

Yes. It was 49/47 so it did not feel or smell anything like snow. We are rolling now though. Great start to the winter. Just took a quick peek outside and it is accumulating now. Coating on the cars and grass.

And I am surprisingly down to 33.6°. Flake size for the most part is terrible. A few fatties every now and then.

It's a no stress bonus event. Especially for us coasties.

Yes looks like it's snowing pretty good by you on the peninsula. Nothing's going to stick till after 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. The cold dry dome is taking its time moving south. DPs tanked up north. Im watching the progression on the Va Eastern Shore as enough has already leaked into Northern Norfolk and Virginia Beach where it's been snowing a little bit.

Exactly. We just need to watch the trends today. That colder dryer air is pressing between Fredericksburg and Richmond right now. We need that low to crank to pull that down into the system for us to make any hay.

Yes looking at the reflectivity bright banding shows some fatties to your southwest. I might cash in at the tail end of the event when it's pulling away. Keep us posted with some observations today please. Really can't ask for a better monday.

Sooo windy here on the immediate coast blowing from the NE. Not good for us obviously with the warmer waters but hopefully this afternoon when the cold front presses south we turn to the northwest or west. Otherwise there won't be much from Norfolk through Virginia Beach down through my area. It's all about the winds. Not expecting any flakes until around 4:00 or 5:00 p.m. down this way. Up by you, you should start seeing something around 1:00 p.m. maybe sooner.

Glad to see Central and Southern Va get on the board. From Newport News south and east got nothing. But expected. Right along the coast we had no chance. Still early for us given the warmer bays and ocean. Heck I was 44° in the morning when it was snowing at 28° in Yorktown. I can't complain about anything for the next several years given the two big events I had last year. Hopefully December continues to be busy. Congratulations to all...except Hampton Roads.

Just drove from Nags Head back through currituck. It's terrible. It was pouring on the beach. Then not so much through southern Currituck until north of Grandy and downhill again. Very gusty. Nasty. Feels damp but non tropical.
