  1. I feel for you. I'm on the sound side in Currituck and it's been brutal. We had the same thing 2 weeks ago when it rained everyday all week long. It's a bummer for the folks that spent all that money to get down here. May be able to salvage Thursday and Friday, fingers crossed.
  2. Saturday is now looking completely dry and Sunday should feature periods of dry weather as well. Friday night looks wet
  3. I am in Northeast North Carolina and I can see it. Pretty crazy.
  4. Maybe they can use the extra resources they don't have to spend on the pool and apply it to the sewer systems and drainage issues they have there. Are they keeping the Tennis Courts open?
  5. Not all curry is Indian. My wife makes tasty Japanese curry dishes. Different for sure. Same general ideas, but a bit less pungent. Look up some recipes. HMart has several premixed products of varying tastes and spice.
  6. Those days of chasing tumbleweeds on scorched Earth are done for you. For your sanity I'm glad you made the move. For the comedy I'm a little sad.
  7. How do you like the new house/neighborhood??
  8. NHL appears to be in serious Jeopardy. Wouldn't it be something is Ovechkin came up just short of Gretzky because this season was shortened or cancelled? Not a capitals fan but I want to see him do it. It was a crapshoot as it was. I gave him a 50% chance. Now I'm not so sure.
  9. It's too bad the covid-19 thread closed. Regardless of the bickering back and forth, I found it very helpful and informative. Forum members were sharing very good information that was not easily discovered or disseminated by formal news outfits. But In fairness, I'm not a moderator nor do I see what goes on behind the scenes. Maybe it was getting uglier than it looked. Anyway it was fun while it lasted.
  10. That's the exact same shape of BUTTHEADS head.
  11. Finally have moderate snow Currituck NC, 33. Nothing accumulating. Went from 36 to 33 in about 20 minutes with the wind shift. I've seen a report of four in from Franklin and 2 inches in Suffolk but nothing around 3 inches.... in Norfolk? Good for you. Coastal influence is now starting to take place so hopefully we get a few more bands through the night
  12. Finally snowing in Currituck as the storm is pulling away. 35. Congrats to all who have seen accumulations.
  13. It didn't quite work out for Hampton Roads. Richmond did better. And I never turned to snow just south of the virginia-north Carolina border south of Chesapeake. Just a windy Rainy Night.
  14. I'm on the south side of the Dismal Swamp in pasquotank North Carolina. Definitely blobs of white missiles mixing in during the heaviest bursts Had more snow in Gates County a little while ago.
  15. It's never a good sign when it's already precipitating a hundred and fifty miles to your Northeast. I'm driving through Gates County in Northeast North Carolina with a slushie mix. 36 degrees.
  16. Not a bad look for Hampton Roads weenies. Comes at night too. May waste a lot of precip to rain on the onset along the coast. Interesting at least.
  17. I just want the ground to freeze. Is that too much to ask?
  18. I will be perfectly happy with an Outer Banks coastal scraper to the chagrin of 99.98 % of the rest of the board. Wouldn't that be something? Suppression is the only way us NC coasties can get into anything decent.
  19. Bay Effect snow flurries flying outside now. Pretty cool. A lot different from the big silver dollars that were falling earlier. Two days in a row of snow in November is pretty awesome for down this way.
  20. Looks like a pretty good band is near/over Newport News right now. Too bad we don't have many in this form in the Hampton Roads area.
  21. Nice! Based on radar it looks like some areas may get a coating. Now move that rain snow line about a hundred miles to your Southeast....Was 60 degrees still a few minutes ago here.
  22. Yeah. I'm right on the sound. Beautiful spot. Cotton Gin fire is a bummer. Really liked that place. Total loss. The main structure was 90 years old and several additions were completed through the years. There's no way they can ever duplicate the layout. And I believe that was part of the charm, walking from room to room not knowing where you were going. I'd wager they don't rebuild. Ironically, I was in Nags Head and watched the Christmas Mouse burn to the ground earlier this year. 2 iconic places. Gone.
  23. I was in the screw zone in Currituck NC. Got just under .50. Most of it from the frontal squall line at 4pm. The peninsula up thru Richmond was BROWN last week when I was up there, so it was much needed for you guys. I wonder if the Sunday Coastal is going to get far enough West for the Richmond area. I hope so.
