If there is rain cooled air being forced up into a layer that is at least a little warmer (like tops of hills because of temp inversion)...the parcel is now wanting to descend. This is a katabatic or downslope wind. This may have encountered a warmer and drier layer as it moves west and descends into the CT valley.

Maybe the gust stuff progged near the valley was legit. Should move to Hippy soon. Blowing hard here now. Acorns and branches hitting house.

They don't, but it probably helped for a time.It's definitely related to the edge of that precip shield too.

The pressure traces show a slight rise/fall couplet on CEF and other sites. Might have been a g-wave.

CEF 45mph gust. Sounds like what you had. It doesn't take much inland to bring them down. Might be a little downsloping or some some of g wave stuff near edge of precip.

He's at the edge of the precip and perhaps some downsloping off the hills. Funny shit can happen.

I was 40-55mph with possibility of higher. So far so good.
