  1. I said the satellite presentation was lousy. Let’s not overhype something.
  2. That’s probably generous. The satellite presentation is what it is. It also has a pretty bad core.
  3. Shear and dry air has been a bit under-modeled. Although SHIPS RH did show it, but as is usually the case, models were to intensity happy when that happens.
  4. September rains are useless though. Could have had some in summer, but it was nice not to have mold growing on everything too.
  5. It does it from time to time, and I'm not sure why. Some rain events show it more than others. I also wonder if trees are an issue, but little wind last night. I think it's more when the events feature large drops? Not the fine warm process type stuff.
  6. She looks lousy. Struggle for a 2, but large circulation.
  7. .72" last night. But man, my Davis has been like 30% less lately for whatever reason. Had to use the ole handy fence gauge.
  8. Because TC’s are babies. Any slight shear or dry air and they have trouble. When the environment is real favorable, they tend to take off much faster than progged, but if the environment is a bit unfavorable....they tend to struggle and guidance is too optimistic. It seems after the ERC the environment had a hair too much shear and dry air.
  9. Gloria catapulted my weenie-ness. I remember the stratus just flying by at 90kts and trees bending. We lost power for several days. Way better than Bob in my hood.
  10. But saying it's falling apart isn't appropriate either. There's gonna be a lot of water with this from ocean and freshwater. I do think winds won't be as destructive as I thought even yesterday. I mean in terms of structural damage. Obviously winds will cause trees/power outages/ roof issues etc.
  11. It won't go poof, but a legit chance it could be a weaker cat 2. I don't think winds are the real issue. Structures will withstand those winds. It's the rain and surge. I honestly do not know how bad the surge will be, but a long sustained bombardment will cause issues for sure.
  12. Clouds and fog makes me want to swallow and uzi when you have kids.
  13. It was sunny and tropical while you guys were picking mushrooms out of your crotch this summer.
  14. Cool wet day. About half inch since last night. Day 2 of thunder.
  15. It's an old timer kind of rule, but the stretched out ESE-WNW look sort of shows you where the corridor for that thing to go is in the mean time.
  16. It's cool...was just noting the nice floater stuff that TT has.
  17. Eye is decent, I think that satellite image is a bit older and skewed. Some nice recent images on the TT page.
  18. Yeah it's looking more of possible surge and fresh water flooding impact, vs wind damage. They'll be wind issues, but I think that's the not biggest problem.
  19. She does look better on satellite as far as the eye and overall presentation, than even an hour ago.
  20. I'm not sure what he means. That is two degrees in longitude. Maybe he meant something else?
