Every year it’s another version of solar or PV somehow being made into something much more important than it should be. Sure it matters to a point, but we are giving something that virtually has a physical boundary that separates the troposphere to the stratosphere, way too much power in governing our weather. It’s the same with the warm blob NPAC argument.

It was on the other side of the pole end of Jan into Feb 2015. So much for needing it on our side. Just goes to show you the other things like MJO and other sub seasonal variables matter more.

Ahh the strat voodoo. Take a look at what the strat looked like on our run in 2015. Probably not what you envisioned.

That would be serviceable down there at the end. There is a window near and after that time where we could go on a run. Not sure how long, but I’ve heard that talk.

End of the EPS looks to dislodge the cold in AK. Some EPO improvement. The longer range guys also feel a window opens up after 1st week of Feb. We shall see.

FWIW (and it isn't much) but the 6z euro op was definitely colder through hr 90 vs hr 96 on the euro.

It did seem like a subtle trend to get the ULL north. The euro op and EPS were pretty good, but the trend was there. Another step and it's a cold rain. It's such a marginal airmass.

18z EPS is pretty good. Interior especially.

We have deep layer erly flow with the potential H5 low going under us and HP to the north. 92 had that, but it was on roids.

I’m not saying it couldn’t slow down and cause copious amounts of precip, but it’s not nearly as impressive as ‘92. I hate when that analog is thrown around. That was a special event.

Of course the only thing missing is 5-8” QPF, severe coastal flooding, and hurricane force winds.

Yeah you were close to a bomb. Almost like latitude matters more on this run. You’d crush tolland. But this will change.

The euro did get a little mild at 925 across a chunk of SNE when the arc of moisture swings through. Hopefully the 12z eps look better.
